A lovely, comfortable, quiet hotel...
Liked: The Crown and Anchor is off the beaten path and a wonderful place to get away. We drove many narrow, winding roads to find it (part of the adventure for us!). Our room was larger than we expected, beautifully decorated, and comfortable, with a king-sized bed and attached bathroom. We enjoyed lunch in the Crown's pub on the day we arrived, and the breakfast the next morning was quite good. We also enjoyed driving to nearby Hungerford for a walk along the canal and dinner at the Amore Italian restaurant.

Good
Liked: All good for an overnight stay if you are happy to eat in the restaurant.
Disliked: The title says Marlborough, but it's miles away. About a 20-minute drive. I should have checked!

Marvellous. Charming. Excellent food that...
Liked: We were staying as a family at the Crown & Anchor. It was fantastic! The service (very friendly, Mary's "Good morning!" at breakfast made my day...), the rooms, the food. Situated in a charming small, pittoresque and neat village with very friendly inhabitans. Dinner was also delicious. You would not assume to get such a good meal in the middle of nowhere. Great breakfast. We left (unfortunately had to leave) with very happy faces on the next day and will come back, hopefully, some time.
