Liked: Lovely brand new hotel rooms. Excellent food and the staff were all really friendly and professional. Trocadero's is fantastic! Keep up the great work!

lovely stay, just not what...

Liked: A newly refurbished hotel which had only been opened a few weeks. The furnishings and the hotel were exceptional and the staff were so lovely
Disliked: to be honest I thought that we had booked to stay in the castle, but in fact we stayed in another building, it looks like no one stays in the castle anymore, it is just for functions/ weddings. Although the building we stayed in was lovely, - it is very misleading to show pics of a castle on booking.com when you are only sharing the car park with the castle. If I had known this, I wouldn't have booked to be honest. We really booked to stay in the castle.

Disliked: All photos and details were of castle - our room was in the newly opened hotel. Standard "executive" style - bit plastic. TV didnt work, no air con, horrible smell from recent works, limited room service, Booked for 2 nights, left after 1 night.

Liked: Decor and finishing were of a high standard inside and out, the grounds were extremely well kept and easy to navigate (pathways and parking),

Disliked: We weren’t informed that there was the cabaret thing on Saturday nights. We were only there overnight so we did not bring a change of clothes for evening which we would have done had we known that something was on. I felt really uncomfortable. So maybe you should let people know when there’s something on in evening. Also when we checked out the girl said she would charge our card. I got home and received a phone call from the reception to say you stayed here last night, I said yes she said you checked out this morning I said yes, then she said you never paid your bill. I was fuming because that was not our fault if you’re telling us that you had the card details and it was all good for us to go. To be fair it should have been charged before we left anyway not when we are gone. I had to get my husband to get his card details again and the gentleman we spoke with was very nice but I did not even get an apology from the initial girl she just said oh I will get I think she said Graham. That annoyed me. I know that you’re just open and obviously there are tweaks to be made so I just wanted to point out my little things. The hotel is lovely and the staff are amazing putting aside my two annoyances, however thank you anyway for a lovely stay apart from the two issues mentioned. Oh yes and also another small point it was slightly awkward when we finished lunch and felt awkward sitting there for a drink as they needed to sort the tables so told us to go through to the restaurant then we got told we couldn’t go in there as the band were practicing we had to end up going to our room for half an hour then coming back down as there isn’t just a bar area you can sit in.
