Polite staff but bad food...

Liked: It was close to where we needed to be for an early start on a classic car rally, and reasonably priced for one overnight stay. The bar and restaurant areas were nice. Staff were polite and friendly.
Disliked: Close to a busy main road, with car noise most of the night. The bedroom was clean and the en-suite was a good size, however the furniture in the bedroom looked like it had been there since the 1960’s. The mirror on the dresser was so low I had to sit on the floor to do my hair and I am only 5 ft. The lampshade was all broken and it all just looked very tired and shabby. We had an evening meal which was just acceptable, everything was overcooked and dry and this theme carried on to the next morning with breakfast. Everything just done to a crisp, if we hadn’t got to be away by 8.45, we would have asked for it to be re cooked, but we just had to leave it. We did tell the waitress and she was very apologetic. We definitely would not stay here again, but if they could update the rooms and get the cooking better it would be ok

Nice building, easy to find....

Liked: Breakfast was very good
Disliked: The night time -late check in process. I coulod not get a reply to my calls earlier in teh day to let them know that I was arriving late due to the concert I was attending finish time. When I did get there - luckily the door in to receptioon was open. But the mobile number left on the desk was not being answered. Luckily one of the pub staff came walking through as they were leaving - he got his colleague out of bed to check us in.

Superb

Liked: Great customer service. Paul told us some great stories about the place.

Disappointing

Liked: Not a lot; it just happened to be the closest to where I was visiting. I was grateful for the fan that was left running for me; it was a very hot weekend.
Disliked: Its poor decor and lack of tea making facilities, and the presence of drain flies. There was a slight whiff in the bathroom.
