Exceptional

Liked: I really liked the building and while the outside areas could do with sprucing up it only added to the overall charm. The room was comfortable and the staff were excellent. And for the price can't really complain.
Disliked: A bar would be perfect although there is an ice machine and they are happy for you to bring your own drinks in. But the stting and building do deserve a bar so that you could sip a drink on the terrace and imagine yourself in an Agatha Christie novel.

Very disappointed. Very poorly maintained...

Liked: Not much we did like bed was comfy good size bathroom and room but that's the only positives
Disliked: This hotel is nothing like the photos shown! It's very rundown ! Bathroom was clean but was dust and rubbish left behind funiture! The staff where hardly seen but not very welcoming. Location was further away to what was told. No carpet in room hard floor was still wet from cleaning slipped as I went in. Had a look at pool facilities they are very rundown aswell. Didn't feel comfortable here at all and not worth the price paid. No drink or food facilities available not even a vending machine. Tea and coffee was provided in the room though!

Acceptable for one night only....

Liked: Staff at Reception & Housekeeping were friendly and attentive to us at all times. We were offered an upgrade from 'Small Room' to 'Suite' (with two TVs!) for an additional fee, which we accepted. The hotel was generally quiet - very little noise from other residents.
Disliked: H&S seems to have been overlooked. There was no H&S notice in our room, or on display at Reception.In the Reception area, there had been a water leak from the floor above, which had resulted in part of the ceiling coming down. This had recently been swept into a neat pile, in the middle of the floor, with trails spreading across the public floor area. There was no Hazars warning notice.Later the floor had been cleaned and mopped. It was still wet; there was still no Hazard arning notice.The 2nd Tv in the suitedid not work, when switched on in the morning.The toilet roll holder, affixed to the wall, was loose, causing the toilet roll to be tipped onto the floor.There was no on-site parking.There was no food available. When I telephoned the 0208 number, (before leaving home) to ask about eating locations, I was told there were several, approx 5 - 8 minutes wlaking time away. In fact they were much further away; had I been able to walk the distance, it would have taken 20 - 30 minutes. No mention was made of the steep hills and no consideration was allowed for those with mobility issues.
