Unsafe! Bed Bugs! Poor management!...
Disliked: The room had not been cleaned. See pics when I reported it to Reception they said they don’t have any housekeeping available and fully booked so I left the property. On the Monday morning I return to speak to the manager and I showed her proof of how disgusting the room was at check in. She said “it’s not my fault” as she doesn’t work weekends and there was other rooms available on the night that they should’ve taken me into. She then said she would investigate and come back to me within 48 hours that never happened until today she has never contacted me. I returned to the property again five days later and she avoided me left me waiting for 40 minutes in Reception (again I messaged prior advising I would appreciate an answer as she had promised me the only time she spoke to me) what’s worse is… while I was waiting in the reception area she called through to the reception and said she will be awhile now… just grab my details so she can call me back she has never called me back (I had driven 40mins to see her, for the second time now) & she avoided me; so I posted online reviews which she did respond directly on the review sites… “saying it was not her property” She accused me of being a liar! & the pics were from another hotel. It’s room 121 @ the Crest on Barkly I promise & I have full proof.Kindly see the Geo tags, time & date stamps in my pics. Also in her review response she said she was unsuccessful in her attempts to contact me. This is not true. She has never contacted me. Not once! attached pics show my messages and even request to send an invoice because I have been fully charged without even staying. Have never been replied to… She is very unprofessional and it’s concerning for the safety & wellbeing of any guest who stays here. This was once a nice property, it was almost my 4th time in as many years booking this hotel. But never again as under her ‘New’ management this place has really gone to the pits. Such a shame!

Liked: The staff were professional. It was easy to get a taxi which was good.
Disliked: The room was very disappointing. I asked for an executive suite, and was not impressed by what I got. This was for my partner’s birthday, and we were quite disappointed. The door onto the balcony did not lock, and there was a small slide lock for this which you had to play with the door quite harshly before you could get it to lock. The room was obviously very aged and could definitely do with a freshen up.The bathroom was quite disappointing. Stepping up into the bathroom, and then stepping into the bath for the shower, it’s not ideal. There was not much room in the bathroom at all. The lounges were very uncomfortable, and the carpet was very old and needs replacing. I am from quite central Queensland and I feel we get a lot more bang for our buck up there. A lot of the hotels I’ve stayed in for Work or for pleasure. I have been a lot more upmarket for the price I paid for this one.

Would not stay again
Liked: The price was ok and the shower was decent
Disliked: Really unaccommodating policies. We arrived at 12.30 and couldn’t check in which is fine however they wouldn’t even let us park in the car park until after 2pm. The “luggage storage” is just the hall across from reception, not at all secure. I wouldn’t be surprised if the whole place burnt down in an electrical fire- we had flickering lights, buzzing power board, light switches pushed into the wall, a lamp that didn’t work.
