The award-winning Craigadam offers luxurious accommodations around 20 minutes from Dumfries. With an excellent Scottish restaurant the Craigadam is located close to Castle Douglas and also has a drawing room with log fire and a billiards room with honesty bar. All rooms have free WiFi access a flat-screen TV tea and coffee facilities and private bathrooms. Rooms are individually themed taking inspiration from Scottish designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Queen Victoria among others. A full breakfast buffet offers cereals yogurt and fresh juices along with cooked items. The Craigadam's restaurant serves hearty dishes such as salmon fillet in orange and white wine sauce and local game specialties including partridge stuffed with venison. Craigadam enjoys an invigorating country estate setting with bracing walks through the hills and by lochs and streams. The small town of Castle Douglas is 45 miles west of Carlisle 55 miles from the Stanraer ferry to Ireland and just under 1 hour's drive from the 300-square mile Galloway Forest Park.
