I would be very much inclined to stay again at the Courtyard Marriott Virginia Beach - lovely, comfortable room; very quiet facility; enthusiastic and welcoming staff!

Liked: Very quiet! The most quiet hotel in which I have ever stayed. Well decorated and furnished room, with lovely fixtures and finishes. Bed very comfortable. The persons serving in the Bistro were so pleasant, warm, and friendly - plus the food was delicious and very reasonably priced.
Disliked: The shower head in my bath could not be adjusted down or the type of stream changed - it was very vigorous and because I am short, it nearly hit me in the face!

Liked: The rooms were clean and the front desk reception was fantastic. When we checked in the gentleman gave us directions to our venue and was so positive.

Nightmare

Liked: Nothing
Disliked: The entire place was torn up from renovation. There were zero amenities available, all the exterior doors were broken, there was trash everywhere, our first room had a broken balcony door that wouldn’t close, the thermostat was smashed so you couldn’t control the temps. Our second room had no TV, smoke detector was torn off the wall, and the floor was covering holes that you sink in walking around. Cops in the parking lot dealing with Meth heads and that’s just some of it. The front desk couldn’t care less. This place was an absolute nightmare.

Rude people

Liked: The staff wasn’t there. Hotel under construction and I walked around for 30 minutes lost looking for a person. Front desk was rude.

Very, very disappointing.

Liked: Once there the room was as expected... very nice. It was clean, free of foul odors, adequately stocked, very comfortable, and the TV worked.
Disliked: Unexpectedly the entire building was undergoing a major renovation. By major I mean that I was unable to find the entrance to the building (the entryway was taped off) and I had to drive around the building three times, trying the six entrance doors before I found one that was open. The outside appearance included piles of metal scrap and mounds of furniture that appeared to have been thrown out of the windows. I then had to wander through the ground floor hallways filled with boxes with unpainted walls and bare floors until I happened upon what turned out to be the only finished 50 square feet on the first floor. I called out several times before someone arrived at the front "desk." I was able to check in but had to exit the building and circumnavigate it halfway to find my way back to my car. I wasn't sure the elevator was functioning as it was very slow and the doors did not close completely when it rose. The second floor was a bit better but I still wasn't sure of the habitability of the building. The room that we stayed in for the night was the only highpoint of the stay. Oh, and there was no breakfast even though it was included in the description of the room rate and there were no restaurants available within a ten minute drive of the building... it was surprisingly isolated. There were several other choices within $10 per night of what we paid for this but which were 10 times better. I would say to avoid this property until the construction is at least 90% done. This was very below par for Courtyard Marriott... I will stay with Hilton (or even Econo Lodge.

I didn't stay at this...

Liked: NOTHING
Disliked: Very rude staff at the desk. Very unprofessional and condescending, she stated that she didn't have a room for me after rebooting her computer for what seemed like an eternity. She told that I need to leave because apparently I was disturbing her. The place is not suitable for a hotel because of construction activities. She said that she will cancel the reservation and I needed to find logging elsewhere ( at 2:00 am). Very rude and disrespectful, I will never recommend this anyone not even my enemies.

Passable

Liked: I like the property was clean, and the staff was friendly and accommodating.
Disliked: Upon arrival, I was shocked to see that the front carport had been taken off and in the middle of being reconstructed there were piles of building supplies wire and other miscellaneous construction essentials all over the property, and the elevator was very slow
