Courtyard by Marriott Memphis Germantown

Liked: I loved everything;

We had paid for a 2 bed room in advance 2 months ago. When we arrived, we were told that they were sold out of rooms, and we were stuck with a 1 bed room for 2 guest because we were not a "platinum" guest member. I personally do not care what rank I have with Marriott, I should have gotten what I paid for. Hotel lobby person came to our room at 9, and moved us to the correct room because of a cancelation. Very inconvenient, since we were preparing for bed after a long drive.

Liked: Hotel clerk came to the room to bring snacks and drinks.
Disliked: Did not get the room that I had paid for.

Worst facility I have stayed at in years! The staff was the worst I have ever encountered - didn't have a clue what was going on, inconsiderate and obviously uneducated. There did not know where they were in relation to any Memphis sights and couldn't give directions to something three blocks away. Rebecca, the manager, was worse - not at all helpful in resolving issues! The room was not clean; fungi in the toilet and tub; the bedroom area was not sanitary and had not been cleaned; unknown spots and stains on the bedding; someone's garbage still in the waste baskets and toilet area; the indoor pool was closed for whatever reason and the breakfast bar was disgustingly nasty with unclean tables from the night before and the person in charge was horrible. When in the Memphis area, I would sleep in my car rather than stay in this pitiful facility - rude, crude and pathetic staff including Rebecca the manager. Charged $3.00 for a bag of Cheetos. Got no co-operation with a reservation change because I had a late check-in due to weather related conditions delaying me in Houston TX. I hope no one ever asks me for a recommendation - I would NEVER stay here again.

Great hotel and great location to < a href="/venue-hotels/mike-rose-soccer-complex-hotels/303646">Mike Rose soccer complex. The breakfast was very good as well. Staff very friendly.

Disliked: The bed and pillows. Pillows were awful and the bed was hard as a rock to me. Also…kids soccer being loud very late at night. Way too expensive for that to be called a good value.

Disliked: hvac and tv didn't work upon arrival. We were told restaurant would be open until 10 but staff said they closed at nine because of a lack of business although they were still there. The staff was unresponsive even though they were preparing a meal for someone else when we arrived. The staff person was also quite unapologetic for closing.

Liked: Location was fine, rooms were clean.
Disliked: Beds were uncomfortable, was told when we checked in there would be breakfast and a bar open that night. No bar was open and breakfast consisted of cereal and bagels because the kitchen was down due to a recent fire. Would have been nice for the check in person to be up front and honest. Soccer tournament was going on so kids were just allowed to run free and take over the place.
