Courtyard by Marriott Tacoma Downtown

This is a great location with plenty to do nearby. A short cab or drive to the Tacoma Dome. For after concert activity I suggest the Swiss Bar and Grill that is easy, safe walking distance and has live music. Great staff at this clean and lovely hotel. If they just had a full service restaurant with room service it would be perfect. Valet had issues due to a large convention ending, but without the convention, it was fine. Friendly staff.

Liked: Fabulous Courtyard; better than most full service Marriott locations; only missing a full restaurant; beautiful spa and fitness center.
Disliked: Valet parking on day one was a mess due to convention ending - took more than 45 minutes after calling ahead 30 minutes prior.

My room was clean and worked great for my needs!

Liked: Staff was friendly and helpful. My car didn't have any dings or scratches that I could see and I used valet parking. The bartender (female middle aged with blond hair) was extremely nice and helpful with the dinner choices as I have celiac and she called down to the chef a few times to make sure that the items in the salad and salad dressing were gluten free.
Disliked: The only thing I noticed was two mornings when I went down to the workout area, the sanitation wipes were out, but I did not pick up the telephone and call.

Clean; comfortable; great service; reception and valet staff and maids offered a high standard of service. Highly recommended and will visit again. Free transit outside hotel to Tacoma Dome and Theatre district.

Disliked: Pay for parking per night or park at convention center both for a fee. $19 for convention center, $29 for hotel parking.

Liked: It is boutique type hotel, just the right size to give it s homey feel. After two nights I can say every one of the staff were friendly and helpful, definitely there to help lower stress when traveling.
Disliked: The first night I heard pounding upstairs for some reason. But it did not go on for mote than a half hour. I also was bothered by the tv screen, the back of it was blinking lights onto the wall behind, I was able to sleep and ignore it ok.

Not what expected

Liked: Room was horrible, toilet was clogged when we arrived when asked someone to fix it. They told us there was a public restroom downstairs that we could use instead of the toilet was such an issue. the fire alarm kept going off when nothing was in the room. We left a day early.
