Decent stay excluding valet fees

Liked: Decent location for Santa Monica beach. Not walkable for families with little kids. Rooms were cleaned every day. Room floors were hardwood. Two queen bed with street view good. Starbucks in lobby was super nice morning coffee and breakfasts (they had sandwiches, bagels, fruit bowls, etc)
Disliked: Paying for valet ($70.80) (fees 60$ + tax $10.80). Valet service is good, but most doesn’t need it though.

Good location and friendly staff

Liked: The staff was great and the location was perfect. People complain about the noise when staying closer to the pier but that is not a problem here. One can walk to the pier and other locations near the beach in less than 10 minutes. It is also convenient to have the small cafe on the property offering Starbuck's coffee and assorted lunch and breakfast items. It is also a secure location. Another advantage is having a Trader Joes and a Target a mere half block away.
Disliked: I found the bed to be most uncomfortable as it was much too soft for my liking.
