Totally incompetent. Avoid at all...
Liked: After all this drama, NOTHING!
Disliked: Paid full price through Booking and then was charged by the hotel after verifying they could see the credit from Booking. Still waiting for my money after being double charged!When checking in to the hotel for a week, the clerk said he would comp $15/night parking if I joined the Marriott Bonvoy. After explaining that I work for the Military in Germany and Bonvoy would do me no good, he said it was his “thing” to get people to sign up.I had myself and 2 kids and the clerk gave me a room without a sofa bed. When I said I didn’t touch anything in the room, his response was “That’s what I like to hear.” As if I was a child.The clerk then charged me a $1700 security deposit!!!The next day, after seeing the deposit, I spoke with the Front Office Manager Mr. Filer. He apologized and said the security deposit will be removed within a day. Two days later the $1700 deposit was still there so I spoke to Mr. Filer again and was then told it will be removed at check out. The day before I checked out it was removed but at midnight a $420 deposit was then applied.When checking out I insisted the credit from Booking was applied. The clerk said it was paid in full. Two days later, when I’m back in Germany, my credit card was charged for the amount I paid through Booking. Last Monday, I spoke with a clerk she said a manager would return the charge. Wednesday, I instead to speak directly with Mr. Filer who said he didn’t receive the first message and needs to speak with Booking to verify the charges and would email me by the weekend.Here it is Sunday night, no message and still have two charges for one week stay at Marriott Rancho Bernardo.My review:Staff – as you can read above, totally incompetent.Room – old and not well maintained.Parking – This is not downtown. There is plenty of parking so the $15 a night is just gimmick to sign people up to Bonvoy. If Marriott approves of this, they need to stand behind it, don’t force the staff to presser customers into it.

Convienent and comfortable stay
Liked: We liked the location and the condition of the hotel. It was comfortable, clean and modern.
Disliked: I didn’t like the front desk guy that was rude , unfriendly, unhelpful and not respectful at all.

Mostly very pleasant staff and...
Liked: Location, most staff were great, appreciated the luggage carts
Disliked: -Elevator closed too quickly -Door of room - closer too strong, difficult to maneuver around/through at entry and exit.-Please get softer toilet paper.-Toilet was always very inefficient!-Refrigerator wobbled upon opening to the extent that the contents was ready to pour out when the door opened.-One time my daughter and I approached the front desk and were not acknowledged for quite a while as three staff members standing behind the desk continued in conversation, not good!

Liked: The rooms were super quiet and comfortable.The tv was very up to date and had a lot of channels including youtube and Netflix (must use your account). They have star bucks
Disliked: They didn’t have complimentary water as in other courtyards I have been to. And the bar was open on a set time.
