Courtyard by Marriott New York Manhattan/Soho

I had the choice of boutique hotels in the SOHO area or a reputable chain like Marriott. After sifting through the boutique options and reading a bunch of negative reviews, I read the Marriotts reviews and they were all exceptional. I only had a one night stay, and just wanted reliable, clean, safe accomodation. I got that and more. The price was right. The staff was exceptional.

Liked: Service from the lobby staff was exceptional. The room was very clean and quiet and felt very safe.
Disliked: More food options would have been welcomed. (not that there aren't plenty of fast food or fine dining options all around the hotel). I was told there was a little restaurant in the back, and it was a stand where they sold coffee drinks and sandwiches except they were out of all the sandwiches. I grabbed a yogurt and a coffee and went to the airport. Once I checked through security I found plenty of food options there.

Location was great with subway stations right outside the door. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. Room was well lit and bed was comfortable. Bathroom shower was nice.

Wonderful greeting every time you pass reception going in or out. Very helpful and cheerful staff! Clean everywhere. We loved our stay and would stay again for certain.

We recommend Courtyard by Marriott in Soho because of its excellent location, courteous and helpful staff and top floor rooms with a great view. I noticed a lot of business travelers who seem to be regulars at the hotel, but I also noticed there were as many families like our family of four who were enjoying the staff and the city as well.

Liked: Our experience at this Courtyard was very positive. The location was perfect for restaurants in Soho and Tribeca. The subway stop was only a block away. The hotel staff was young, but especially friendly, attentive, extra helpful and went out of their way to make our visit pleasant. The rooms were quiet, clean and comfortable.
Disliked: The breakfast and coffee bar was understaffed for the first morning we tried breakfast in the hotel, but the young woman working the counter made up for it in effort!
