Courtyard by Marriott Myrtle Beach Barefoot Landing

The hotel front desk employees were great; the room was clean and nice; I would tell anyone if you're going to the beach, stay at this hotel - wonderful.

The room was clean, the staff was extremely helpful and it was extremely affordable. Also loved the free wifi and great breakfast.

The Barefoot Courtyard was a great place to stay! Clean, comfortable and close to the House of Blues. The staff was very accommodating and we will definitely stay again on our next trip to Myrtle Beach.

Disliked: I’ve always trusted Marriott because they are ALWAYS quality, and you don’t have to worry.Well I no longer feel that way. This place was subpar at best. It looks updated and nice at first. Once you get into the room you can tell it’s an old hotel that’s had a partial facelift. Mostly the outside and lobby.The worst part of it is all of the loud sounds. Since the building is older it’s an issue.We had only been in the room a few minutes before we heard what we thought were gunshots from the hall outside our door. Then we thought maybe someone was beating on the door. I looked outside and saw nothing so I called the front desk. She sent up maintenance, who explained that the noise was just the pipes banging against the inside of the walls when someone above or below us turns the water on then off. I stood there baffled because this is a known issue and they continue to rent these rooms at $230 a night. This can be heard on all 4 floors.The toilet also made a horribly loud noise every time it was flushed. It was a terrible experience and we will never stay here again. I’m hoping Marriott will be receptive to my feedback and fix the issues or be better at updating the buildings before they slap their name on it. I CANNOT be the first person to speak about this.

Disliked: The room had not been cleaned. The sheets were not changed, there was hair in the shower, there were black smudges on the curtain and ac unit, and the kleenex tissue holder had tissue that was balled up and pushed down in it. Once management was involved, we received new sheets.

Liked: The staff were nice. The king bed was comfortable. The location of the hotel was convenient to the beach, shopping and restaurants.
Disliked: Within our first 15 minutes of checking in, we noticed a dead large roach under the sofa bed when we pulled out the sofa bed. Also, there were crumbs on the sofa bed. There were no linens in the room for the sofa bed. When we called customer service to fix the issues, no one came that day. We had to make a second request before the issue was resolved. We were also told the rooms only get housekeeping every other day. Our initial stay date was our housekeeping date, so I highly doubt our room was cleaned prior to arrival with housekeeping issues found. There were no trash liners in our trash can. We m were told it’s against policy to have trash liners in the trash cans and we have to request trash liners to receive them.
