Courtyard by Marriott Grand Rapids Downtown

Our experience was great other than knowing we had to hide our valuables every time we left the room. Not really any good places to eat except Bagger Dave's right next door. I was charged a $250.00 extra fee on my debit card after we got home. When I called to ask what it was for I was told it was for smoking in the room. I was given a number to call and talk with someone about this. I called and left a message and no one ever returned my call. No warning, no explanation, just charged my debit card $250.00! We even tipped the house keeping when leaving. My guests went downstairs and outside every time they had to smoke.

Liked: Nice location; close to our venue; connects to other buildings via Skywalk.
Disliked: Someone came in our room every time we left. No vent in the bathroom. Only place to eat was Bagger Dave's. Harassed by the local beggars and or/dealers that hung out by the entrances.

Close to the Intersection concert venue.

My visit to grand rapids...

Liked: How close it was to van andel.
Disliked: The room was rundown. The furniture had extreme wear and tear. There were gouges in dresser and table. The fridge did not fit in the cubby it was in, door would not open unless you pulled the fridge out of the cubby hole and then it was uneven where it rocked and stuff would fall out of it. The shower was a bad design as the door opened in and to reach the shower knob you got sprayed in face with the blast of cold water and water leaked out so there was a puddle on the floor when you got out of shower. Toilet constantly made noise. For the money I paid for the room it was not worth it. It’s a shame i paid that much for the room to go see one of my favorite music artists in a rundown hotel room.

Liked: Skywalk to Van Andel as we were attending a concert. Nice decor, friendly & helpful staff. No street noise. Breakfast “coupon” to eat for free (great selection).

NOT OUR FIRST STAY AND...

Liked: OUR CONCERT WAS RIGHT ACROSS THE ROAD AND THE RESTAURANTS WE VISITED WERE WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE.
Disliked: A LITTLE PRICEY, BUT WORTH IT.

Comfortable convenient and relaxing

Liked: Everything was extremely convenient. We were in town for a concert at the Van Andel Arena. We did not know that the hotel was connected by a skywalk to the arena for an easy walkable commute.
Disliked: There was no communication on parking costs.
