The Monterey Beach Dunes is ideally located across the street from Marina State Beach. The hotel is 4 mi from California State University Monterey Bay. The hotel offers two-room units (sleeps up to 8 people) for those traveling together but wish to have separate accommodations. All guest rooms include a coffee maker hair dryer iron ironing board alarm clock radio and cable television. Handicap accessible and nonsmoking rooms are available. Free continental breakfast is served daily. Other hotel amenities include free high-speed Internet access divers wash station guest laundry facility and individually controlled air conditioning in all rooms. We love this area so...

Liked: We love how close it is to beach and to Monterey
Disliked: They had only two towels and one hand towel for us for the weekend. Went to desk asked for more towels and some wash clothes and had none to give. They said they had ordered more but hadn’t come in. I honestly didn’t believe that. Last time we stayed here same issue. And we asked for more regular coffee and they didn’t have that either. Obviously they don’t care if they run out of things for their customers. Sad.

I’ve been here twice I...

Liked: The location is beautiful
Disliked: Room had only one towel, in my reservation clearly said two adults. no washcloth. The water pressure and temps were terrible.

Horrible experience

Liked: Location
Disliked: Unclean. Mold in bathroom. Broken shower curtain flooded floors. No towels to replace those needed to sop up flooded fours. No cleaning service despite requests. Phone didn’t work so daily trips to get towels. Unresponsive dismissive staff.

Don’t stay here if you...

Liked: Close to beach
Disliked: Man, I don’t usually put hotelsOn blast: but this one was surreal. Okay you know you watch a scary movie? And the people never leave and you say if I’m ever one of those persons I’m out of there. Well, that was us and it wasn’t so much ghost we were scared of that place was running around with kids and masks trying to sell drugs they were gonna party big time so I get it, but that definitely wasn’t a place. I wanted to be there that night. I trust my instinct and bailed out 30 minutes after checking in. The guy at the front desk said that he will not charge my card. However, now I’m disputing $180 fee where they’re claiming that’s not the case so just be careful in that part but I’m telling y’all, that place was really sketchy guys riding around on bikes with backpacks in cars teenagers looking they were gonna have fun. And I’m sure lots of illegal activity which again doesn’t bother me is OK but this time it was literally in our face.

Disliked: We didnt always have hot water.The lock box was missing off our door, the door had very obvious pry marks in the wood, there was a hole in the bathroom door where someone had punched it, the picture frame on the wall was busted and broken. Didnt always
