Looking for a new hotel...

Disliked: We originally booked a one night stay but updated to a two night stay over a week prior to our stay. I received a text about checking out and we was already in Chicago as we were going to six flags for the day and all of our stuff was in the room. I tried calling 4 times and was hung up on every time. We called on my significant others phone and they finally answered but was very rude and said we only had one night. They eventually was able to find the updated reservation and claimed booking never sent them the updated information. We got back to the hotel at night to find they had disabled our key card. Luckily all of our stuff was still in the room. We stay at this hotel very regularly and it seems to get worse with each stay.

Liked: It was close to the event we went to.
Disliked: Not clean, room was never cleaned, they had children’s swimming classes in the pool! That was not on their website nor disclosed when checking in. There was not signs or anything up stating that they did they there. The swimming instructor tried to kick us out of the pool when we were there first just so she had the pool just for the swimming class that went on every evening I found out while in the pool! I’m not getting out when I paid to use this pool and the pool is big enough for both! This should have been disclosed on their page and at the facility! I wouldn’t have chosen this place just on that alone!

Liked: Location was great for planned activities, food, shopping, gas close by
Disliked: 1) staff was apathetic at best, and excelled at being unavailable 2) asked the clerk on check on to recommend a local non-franchise restaurant…her answer…I don’t eat at out, I don’t know what is nearby, sorry can’t help 3) staff working buffet dragged her braid through food while refilling cold eggs at breakfast, no swap out of food 4) mentioned to staff waffle batter wasn’t flowing; her response…it’s probably plugged…no big deal and walked away 5) room had a musty smell, carpet was damp, fit & finish of room felt like they got halfway through a referb and stopped, sink stopper was non functional, and slow to drain, tub needs to be reglazed or replaced, commode was almost too low to use, almost impossible to get up from, 6) dope was being smoked in another room on the floor we were on, mentioned to desk, response…”it happens, oh the rooms are nonsmoking, they will get charged” 7) table lamp had a 3 section base…nice lamp if the mounting thread apneas tight, the sections of the lamp sat at 45 degrees to one another, 8) light bulbs dead in several ceiling lights

Disliked: The bathroom smelled musty, the toilet was dirty once I put the lid down. There was hair all over it. Shower was dirty. Between the bed and night stand was dirty towel and chip bags. The air conditioner had musty smell when it turned on. Every day by 10am coffee in lobby was empty. I reported to the manager the last time I stayed in the hotel it had an awful smell in the hallway and he said it was due to the trees outside.
