Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Dearborn MI

I picked the hotel based upon it's distance from the Ford Community Performing Arts Center and the pricing. Late evening check in, the lady on duty, whose name I forgot to jot down, was friendly and very courteous. She provided a run down on the amenities of the hotel. Room was clean - everything in it's place. At check out next morning I was greeted by Ashley Jones with "How was your stay, did we exceed your expectations and what was the best part of your stay?". She was very personable and professional.

They to fix the ceiling...

Liked: The location.
Disliked: The walls were dirty and the carpet needs cleaning. The door to the room was hard to shut. I asked for floor towels twice. Never gave us any. Said they didn’t have any clean ones. The pool looked disgusting. The lobby floors need to be swept and mopped. The water pressure was terrible. I didn’t feel clean.

Overall the hotel is overpriced...

Liked: Nice place to stay no issue in the room
Disliked: The elevator needs upgraded and cleaned and patches in the ceiling, take a small vacuum to gets crumbs out the air conditioner maybe some kids got bored and lots of stomping especially at night

I absolutely disliked everything about...

Liked: The only thing in the room that appeared to be clean were the sheets and pillowcases, the bed skirt was filthy.
Disliked: The room was filthy, I had to cover the chair to sit in it, there were black stains on every piece of upholstery, the carpet was filthy with stains and spots, over half of the floor tile in the handicap bathroom was crack to the point that some tiles were raised up at least a 1/4 inch from the floor there were several cracks in the bathroom floor. The hallway carpets were raised and easy to trip on, the elevator was filthy it along with the lobby floor were always wet, it was hard to maneuver a wheelchair or walk around the wet floor signs, they were seldom taken up so the floor was usually wet and everyday the room key had to be activated,

Liked: The property is clean and the location is convenient.
Disliked: Much to my dismay, the room lacked towels. There was only one washcloth placed in a King room with a pullout sofa. It may sound trivial, but towels are needed to ensure cleanliness and the lotion was in the shower, while the conditioner was at the sink. While I understand many guests needed accommodation and the staff may be thin, there were no additional towels in the hotel to give us. On top of it all, the pool was closed from check-in until 6pm and when we were able to access the pool, there were no towels in the pool. At that point, I was tired and toweled out. AND before I could check out, housekeeping was gutting my room, when I requested a late checkout I was approved for and had a “Do Not Disturb” sign on my door. I felt invaded! Do better. I also didn’t care for the night manager. The night manager could have been more polite and should have had better accommodations for patrons of the hotel. While trying to talk to him about my children being told the police would be called on them for getting ice, he was dismissive and really didn’t try to understand the point I was trying to make, especially because the ice machine was out on the floor we were on. I still don’t know why they were being yelled at for. But simply asking for a parent, in order to obtain ice, would have helped the situation go over more smoothly.

I had a great stay...

Liked: The room was large, beds were comfortable and the staff was really nice!
Disliked: The hotel could be updated to make it more modern but it's still really beautiful!
