Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Bloomington-Normal West IL

I booked a prepaid suite with a king bed 2 months prior to traveling. When we got there they tried to give us a non-suite with two double beds. The front desk didn't even tell us they were downgrading our room when we checked in. Went back to the front desk and was told they overbooked and gave our room away. Keep in mind check in time is 3pm and we were there at 3pm. She told us it wasn't her problem. If we didn't like it we could go elsewhere. There were 3-4 other couples there with the same issue. Being law enforcement I had higher hopes when staying at a Country Inn.

Liked: They are issuing a refund.
Disliked: Overbooked and didn't care.

Second time at this hotel....

Liked: Room had a very musty smell.The front desk was helpful in finding another room.It should not be in the first place.
Disliked: Room was musty. Given another room and that one had a dead outlet and also a loose plug in the bathroom.

Disliked: It was a little difficult to find because the sign wasn’t on.

Disappointing and concerned for other...

Liked: Beds were comfortable. Set up nice. Location was great. We had stayed at Country In and Suites at least 10 times before when we traveled between Iowa and Ohio. This was our go to place. They did give us a first floor room which was nice so that we could take our dog out without going on stairs or the elevator. He did great and we had zero issues with him.
Disliked: It was dirty. The outside driving up the grass uncut and bushes untrimmed. The furniture on the patio was broken, moldy and dirty. The curtains in the room (sheers) were torn and dirty. A spider dopped down when I went to close the curtains. The refrigerator didn't work and they brought a new one that still didn't get cold. You had to hold the plug at the receptacle to get the microwave to run. The bathroom was not up to any standard with a roll cart for towels and the stool to sit in the shower was crooked and someone could fall. We stop there because of past experiences and we wanted a place for our dog to be with us/pet friendly.
