Would stay again, as good...

Liked: Food in bar/restaurant was very good. Staff friendly and accommodating. Room was comfortable. but noise from other guests was disturbing and window sashes were very dirty.
Disliked: Noise from other guests was disturbing and window sashes were very dirty. Broken glass in the public lavatories, which was mentioned to reception staff.

Liked: Room was clean, plenty of hot water for bath.
Disliked: Our room was located above the courtyard where golf buggies are charged, so until it grew dark there were regular buggies being moved back and forth. The television could not receive adequate signal in the room so unable to view anything. Likewise with wifi on personal devices. We paid extra to have our dog with us but nothing in the room to reflect this - no dog bowl or sleeping pad for the floor.Breakfast was charged at £10 per person, but options were limited. The only items cooked fresh were the eggs, everything else on a warming plate. Tea/coffee were in flasks and lukewarm. I had a small yoghurt, a bowl of fruit salad (no fresh fruit available) and a cup of tea. Not value for money.

Liked: I thnk that the hotel needs a complete refurbishment, my room did not even have a lock on the windows and the bathroom was very poor and mould around the bath i would not recommendthis hotel to anybody disgusting place.
Disliked: Nothing if i could have gone somewhere else at the time i would have

Brilliant place

Liked: The breakfast, the location, Sandra on Reception, the staff, the cleanliness.
Disliked: The only one slight downside was that the rooms need a little updating, but that wouldn't stop me from staying there again.

Amazing Staff in an Amazing...

Liked: We had a welcoming greeting from Reception, who answered all questions and double checked our booking. The breakfast was good and was replenished regularly and the staff did not rush you and instead went the extra mile. The late night bar tender was excellent and so happy. The rooms and indeed the hotel was "oldy worldly" because it is a very old listed building which does and will need a lot of upkeep. Do not expect a modern hotel, it is not. It has a different beauty with fantastic staff. No doubt they will be in the process of updating things slowly but hopefully they will keep the charm of the original place and had the history of of for people who are interested.All in all it was very good value, set in a lovely environment. We would stay there again.
