Cottam's Lodge by Alpine Village Suites

First time in Taos Sky...

Liked: The room was good in size and space.
Disliked: Room on 2d floor. No elevator access. Needed for disabled body. No a/c. Ceiling fan not enough to cool room. Equipped with add’l filthy portable fan. For someone that is on oxygen, air quality matters and this item wasn’t usable. No screens on side windows to help with air flow. Shower curtain too short where water sprayed bathroom floors.

Liked: Beautiful location. Clean, comfy room.
Disliked: The main and only thing I did not like about this stay was the ABSENCE of staff people to check me in. I arrived at the location by 7 PM but couldn't check in till 9 PM because there was no one at the desk to tell me what room I was in or his to gain access to my room. There was a sign at the front desk, saying there desk was closed for the evening, and it gave a number to call if there was no one there, so I called the number and the phone rang on the other side of the counter where I was standing. But there was no one there to answer the phone. I drove back and forth a few times between the Cottage and the main lodge hoping I'd find someone, and the sign at the cottage said to go back to the main lodge to check in, but of course when I went back to the main lodge, there was no one there so it was a very frustrating cycle. I actually called booking.com to cancel the reservation and was about to drive away from the location when the large called me and sent me a text with my check-in information. But of course it was already two hours after my arrival time. I never did see anyone, but at least they did get me into the room and once I got into the room, it was fine.

Good for short visit or...

Liked: Good for a quick stay. Clean
Disliked: Small amenities/ refrigerators etc but GREAT for a small/quick stay of if you're not spending a lot of time in the room.

Disliked: Small room, sparsely decorated, definitely not modern, to reach the electrical plug, we had to place the coffee pot on the floor. The front door was not properly sealed (could see people walk by the front door).

Very comfortable and welcoming

Liked: Did not have breakfast, not offered. Loved the clerk that checked us in. She was so nice and helpful
