Rooms are large but tired...

Liked: The hotel main building is beautiful and the breakfast was very good.
Disliked: The hotel rooms are really tired and not decorated in the same quality as the main building. Quite a dissapointment given the location and price. The rooms, doors, windows and exterior of the annexes really need renovating.

Dreadfull waste of good money....

Liked: Nice view
Disliked: After arrival we booked with reception for meal in brasserie we were told the only time available was 7pm, we were second to be seated at 7.10 and then waited to 8-00pm to be asked if we wanted at drink.at 8-15 we received drinks and were given the menu made our selection by 8-30, the meal followed and was very nice.It was a long evening. We only wanted a light bite for breakfast as we were eating out for lunch. Only coffee ( no croissants) or a £20 breakfast was available. We chose to have powder coffee in our roomWe returned from our outside lunch at 5pm only to find the room not cleaned and made up. We had to vacate to the bar so staff had access, we were going out at 7-30 to have supper with family. Two more things, we were in the small cottage 11-14. When any of the occupants used the water, loo or shower their is a vibration and noise throughout the property.Around 10-00am on Sunday morning the very noisy fire alarm sounded, all the occupants had vacated outside in the car park before a young lady came and turned it off, at no time were we asked if we were all safe and well.

CHAPEL WAS A GORGEOUS PLACE...

Liked: VIEW WAS AMAZING. LOGBURNER. BALCONY. PIANO, LOCATION ALL GREAT
Disliked: LOTS OF AREAS NEED TIDYING UP AROUND THE CHAPEL THERE'S A GRUBBY CARAVAN AND STAFF ACCOMMODATION THAT IS REALLY REALLY UNKEMPT AND ALTHOUGH HIDDEN FROM VIEW SHOWED STANDARD BEHIND THE SCENES. LOGSTORE WASNT TOPPED UP. BALCONY NEEDED BRUSHING OFF AND GUTTERING EMPTYING JUST SMALL GENERAL MAINTENENCE JOBS.RAILINGS WERE VERY WOBBLY AND HAD COME AWAY FROM ITS HOUSING. IM NO STRUCTURAL ENGINEER BUT IT SEEMED DANGEROUS AND WE AVOIDED HOLDING ON TO IT. PARKING IN FRONT OF CHAPEL WAS A BIT AWKWARD AS NOT ENOUGH ROOM TO DO 3 POINT TURN.

Lovely location but an overpriced...

Liked: Fabulous location and views. Food and wine was very good. Staff were excellent.
Disliked: Our room, which was a superior room, was very tired and unimaginative. It’s disappointing to have a hotel bedroom that’s not as well appointed as your own bedroom at home. The quality of the carpets and furniture felt ‘budget’ and not reflective of the £200+ price tag. The food was very good but slightly overpriced.
