Fantastic stay ?
Liked: What an absolutely beautiful hotel. Spotless friendly staff and owners the grounds are stunning so peaceful didn't want to leave . Was gutted the restaurant was full the night we stayed really wanted to eat there my fault should of pre booked ? breakfast was delicious room was gorgeous bed so comfy will definitely go back wonderful ? xx
Disliked: There wasn't anything i didn't like but if i was to be really picky me personally would of preferred a shower screen rather than a curtain but its nothing to moan about just my own preference

Liked: The stay was luxurious and comfortable. I enjoy good food and this place had slipped under the radar. When I noticed it had 2 rosettes I had to try for my wife's birthdayThe room (Bishops room) was expansive and you felt that a Bishop may well have stayed here. With high decorative ceilings and four poster bed you really felt you were being treated. The real treat however came with the meal. The small, unassuming dining room was cleverly laid out with mirrors on the walls. The design makes it feel like staff walking in and out of the room are always walking away from you, never detracting you from your meal. The food itself is impeccable and of the highest quality. With a menu holding just the right amount of choice we opted for crab and salmon to start with some black truffle popcorn, olives and bread. To follow we had pork belly and then followed by a selection of desserts. We were also treated to an amuse bouche of watermelon and goats cheese which just worked. The pork was fork tender and fell apart. Each detail was meticulous with the serving staff going to great lengths to explain each part of the meal.Where Cotford house really excels is in its customer service. One of the owners took the time to come and speak with each diner before eating. Wishing my wife happy birthday. After the meal, the chef (part owner) was standing, smiling outside of his kitchen allowing you to compliment or (as we did) just have a natter. As we felt so full we asked for a couple of green tea bags to take back to our room. A little later a server had hunted us down outside with said bags displayed for us on a plate. The next morning I requested if we might have breakfast in our room as my wife had a nasty cough. (Always concerned about the perception of Covid even though we had tested negative the night before). Although this was not something the hotel offered, the owner herself bought our bespoke breakfast to our room.
Disliked: Liked everything.

3 star hotel, 5 star...
Liked: Friendly, efficient staff, the hotel is very clean and in an excellent state of repair overall, the breakfast was delicious, the room was beautifully decorated, with nice solid wood furniture, lovely comfortable bed and pillows - all fantastic.

Lovely old large house converted...
Liked: Excellent food and dinning service, breakfast was great quality
Disliked: Not the Hotel fault but I stayed during the unprecented heat wave - single room as you would expect is quite small and as a very old house has no air conditioning , room would benifit from a fan.

Liked: I had a good stay. The room was pleasant and comfortable. The breakfast was good. I was able to park in the car park.
Disliked: The extractor fan in the en suite was not working. I am sure your staff must have noticed.

Clean comfortable and friendly would...
Liked: Friendly helpful staff. Breakfast was very good lots of choice. I did not use the restaurant as I had been out to lunch.
Disliked: I would have preferred a room with just a shower as had to climb into the bath to access the shower but I had not requested that so my fault. I also have never slept in a single bed I thought I had booked a double room for single person.
