Liked: The guesthouse was absolutely beautiful, well appointed and the interior design of the rooms were very tasteful. It’s in the perfect location, which is just a 10 minute walk from the main Galway centre. The cathedral is just across the river too. We can’t wait to come back here again. Acacia who was the front of house manager looked after us very well. The breakfast was also wonderful! Can’t recommend this place enough.

Disliked: No parking although we got lucky because the pay station was broken.

Good value, close to airport...

Liked: It’s charming to stay in a castle. Grounds are pretty. Bed was comfortable and nice to have AC. Artwork was cool.
Disliked: The room we stayed in was overlooking rubbish bins and the parking lot. The room was small/cramped. There were no bathrobes, I called to ask for them, then waited 30 minutes and had to call back to remind them. Then later on when we were trying to order room service - no one was answering and we had to call reception, who kept forwarding us to room service, who wasn’t answering and on it went for 30 minutes. The room service late menu has no dessert option which is a bit odd (not even a scoop of ice cream?). It’s difficult to get coffee after 10:30, there’s only instant in the room. Seems to forget that guests are stuck on the property without other options (no grocer, no where to get things aside from the property). The WiFi was terrible.

Liked: The room was fantastic. There were so many beautiful touches and quaint pictures. The view of the weir from the bedroom was exquisite and very romantic. The free-standing bath was lovely. We didn't spot the candles until later. That would have made it even more romantic. The breakfast was very impressive with plenty of choice and all quality ingredients. There is a lovely atmosphere throughout and the staff were fabulous.
Disliked: The parking was a bit annoying. Max stay outside the hotel is 2 hours before 18:30. The Cathedral parking is €8 per day, which sounds good, but that meant an overnight charge of €16 for less than 24 hours.
