Loved our time in Rome,...

Liked: You couldn't fault the location. Walking distance to all major sites, surrounded by bars, restaurants and shops, down a pretty little street.
Disliked: Terrible experience with the hotel. When we checked in, we were informed that due to being short staffed, there would be no one in the hotel all weekend after 2.30pm.We didn't like the idea of it, but presumed it would be fine....When we returned late that afternoon our key card wouldn't work for our room. We had to hunt the hotel for an emergency phone number. The guy on the other end told me to go behind the reception desk and just take the master key!!! Giving me access to EVERYONE'S rooms!? So glad I found it before anyone else was given it!The room then was SO hot. I appreciate there was a heat wave on the weekend, but we weren't even given a fan, and were told to "crack a window" - in 29 degrees heat.The room was VERY dark and we struggled to see in the bathroom. No iron to use, and had to hunt shops and buy our own.Breakfast was terrible. Literally a couple of options, very basic.
