Disliked: No air conditioning and we just happened to be there on a rare heat wave

Liked: The gardens were beautiful, and breakfast was great.
Disliked: We went on a very hot day. Corridors were very stuffy, and so was the room no air conditioning.The dinner wasn't great. Chicken was cold, not impressed with dinner, and not a lot of it.

Excellent place for a break...

Liked: Location and facilities and excellent food, Simon and his team in restaurant first class , as are the other team members throughout the hotel.
Disliked: The only issues I’d like to raise is the public bar and the speed at which customers are attended.Very slow service and having to chase up bar staff, but other than that all good.

Liked: Grounds were lovely, house itself is nice. Food was delicious
Disliked: Unfortunately we were very disappointed with our room. It felt very outdated and aged. Our bedroom was the very last room away from the reception even though the hotel was basically empty. Our television didn’t work at all so we couldn’t watch anything and the shower was very weak. The room felt dated and not the cleanest or freshest e.g the old carpet, rusty mirror and grout around shower peeling off. The hotel was so quiet and there was no atmosphere for dinner or in the bar etc. we enjoyed the spa but felt that access to the thermal suit should have been included for the price. We felt it was overpriced for what it was unfortunately.
