lovely river views hotel was clean and tidy

Liked: Great location to train station and concert hall.
Disliked: Air conditioner wasn't providing cool air so the room was hot and stuffy. Out dated taps; shower stiff to turn on.

A bargain price and a...

Liked: The hotel first put us in a room overlooking some large electricity transformers, underneath a railway bridge over looking a car park (Room 232). We walked straight out and down to reception for a better room. They were very accommodating and we got an excellent room overlooking the front of the hotel (409). It was very clean and comfortable. This hotel is about 30 year old and the corridors are tired and jaded, but the rooms are fine. We didn't use any other facilities. The quayside location is excellent with lots of bars and restaurants nearby. We walked along the quay to Ouseburn for coffee the next morning to looking in the artisan shops.
Disliked: Parking is accessible but expensive at £12.50 overnight and the NCP car park opposite is £10.50. We bought a coffee from the bar and it was cold. The breakfast is a shocking price (especially if you don't order it when you arrive) and Wetherspoons is next door so save your money. Keep an eye on prices, the same room went up by £100 for the next night.

Great stay in top hotel

Liked: Really spacious suite with great view of the river and Tyne bridges.Super comfy big bed and black out curtains means you sleep soundly.
Disliked: Fixed shower head means you need to be a certain height and no adjustable head means you've only got jet wash.
