lovely river views hotel was clean and tidy

Liked: Great location to train station and concert hall.
Disliked: Air conditioner wasn't providing cool air so the room was hot and stuffy. Out dated taps; shower stiff to turn on.

Good

Liked: good location, great views over the water. Lots of space in the double room.
Disliked: WiFi in bedroom didn't work, no drinking glasses in the bedroom. had to use plastic glasses from the bathroom. Spare electrical socket near the bed would have been handy.

Great location, friendly staff, tired...

Liked: I thought all the staff were very helpful and accommodating. The location was good and room was spacious and quiet
Disliked: The room has a lot of space and gorgeous view was pretty tired and dirty in places. It was OK but for the money I expected a bit more of a clean modern room. Eg mould on the ceiling, dirty bath panel, holes in the tiles filled with pollyfiller, rusty vent by the toilet, wardrobe doors didn't fit together easily. I also didnt like the amount of single use items.....salt, pepper, sauces, coffee, sugar, milk etc. It took 1x coffee sachet, 3x sugar (equivalent to 1tsp) and 3x milk to make one drink. Would much prefer a glass bottle of milk in the fridge and salt and pepper shakers on the table for example. Also, the amount of signs and warnings to read in the room were excessive. As an adult, I know how to use a shower curtain and that wet floors are dangerous

It was ok however very...

Liked: The bar food was good and the layout of the dining areas also good. I liked the view of the river from the bedroom. The shower was also good.
Disliked: The noise from trains crossing nearby bridges was horrendous especially throughout the night. I didn’t sleep at all on my first night and had to purchase earplugs to get any form of sleep the rest of my stay. You should inform potential customers of this before they book with you or install triple/quadruple glazing on the windows. The bath plug hole was also filthy and hadn’t been cleaned for sometime. It was disgusting for an alleged 4 star hotel. I have travelled to many parts of the world and stayed at many 4 star hotels. I really think your hotel struggles to classed as a 4 star premises. Although you’re staff were pleasant and professional, some of the information given by some staff totally contradicted what other staff members had told me about in terms of transportation to the start of the great North run.
