Copley Square Hotel

Lovely place to stay

Liked: Wonderfully located hotel in Back Bay, walkable to most sights we wanted to see

We would LOVE to return...

Liked: Room 617. Kingsize bed. Room size was acceptable. Bathroom was very small. But it met all of our needs. We were surprised that there were no hooks and only one towel bar to hang wet/used towels. Nor were there signs regarding use of towels and re-use as we have seen in most of the hotels on the West Coast. For economics and the environment, those hotels ask that guests re-use towels by hanging them to dry on the many hooks/towel bars and if guests want fresh towels on any given day, to leave their used towels on the floor. So at Copley Square we got fresh towels every single day, which as a very pleasant and welcomed surprise. Also, every single staff member we came across, no matter how far away they were in the hallway, greeted us with a 'good morning', 'have a nice stay', etc., AND a warm smile. One gentlemen commented to me after seeing me several days in a row working out in the exercise room that next time I was there, if I needed water to let him know and he would bring me some. So thoughtful and kind. Every single staff member was very welcoming, friendly, and customer service oriented... unlike some of the other people we ran across in our exploring of Boston for a week. Highly recommend this hotel! Also, even though there was no microwave in our room, there was a guest kitchen with a microwave, free coffee/cappucinos/espresso, paper plates, plastic utensils, etc.... that was very CONVENIENT and thoughtful of the hotel to provide us with those. We had leftovers many nights and all of the kitchen amenities came in very handy. Thank you for that! Staff at the front desk were also very helpful with recommendations for what to see, where to eat, etc.
Disliked: The exercise room temperature was set pretty high for people working out. I recommend a temp of 67 or so rather than 75 degrees.

A lovely hotel but when...

Liked: The history and spaces offered by the Copley. Location eas fantastic and the free coffee!!!!!
Disliked: I left some clothing in the cupboard. The complete lack of energy and inclination to support or help me inwhat became a very challenging race against time was very distressing to be honest. I was told that my clothes ( 2 items) could only be expected to be couriered to NY after 2 weeks. I have asked a friend's daughter to collect them and I will fetch them back in January 2026. When it really mattered, the Copley staff where not there to make the difference regardless of what I was prepared to do to get my possessions to NY before I returned from my holiday to the US.

Good location but I willing...

Liked: Location
Disliked: No coffee tea in room facility. Carpets old and stained. Lifts one not working the entire time we were there (9 days). Waiting for lift.

Disliked: Room was tiny and the bed is old

Terrible hotel never go back

Liked: Dingy and dark room facing Brock wall. Furniture in room old and depressing.
Disliked: Asked to change room. Not possible. The elevator was hot no air cooling and took so long to arrive and moved so slowly
