Step back in time at Coombe Abbey Hotel, a stunning 4-star retreat nestled in 500 acres of landscaped parkland. This former 12th-century Cistercian abbey blends historic grandeur with modern comfort, offering a unique stay just a 15-minute drive from Coventry. With antique-filled rooms, scenic views, and centuries-old architecture, it's a hotel experience as unforgettable as the concert you're attending.
The hotel’s peaceful countryside setting makes it an ideal spot to unwind after a high-energy night out. Despite its tranquil atmosphere, it's still conveniently close to Coventry and its major music venues. The drive back is short and scenic, and for groups with a designated driver or a taxi, it’s a smooth ride home. With free Wi-Fi throughout and late-evening events like medieval banquets, there’s still plenty of entertainment if you're not ready to call it a night.
Dine like nobility in the fine à la carte restaurant or grab a post-show bite in the Garden Bar, which serves delightful afternoon tea and light snacks. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the hotel’s medieval banquets and themed dining experiences offer a memorable twist on the usual hotel fare. Breakfast is available — handy if you’ve had a late night and need a slow start the next day.
While there’s no nightclub on-site, Coombe Abbey hosts weekend medieval banquets complete with entertainment, making it a fun alternative to traditional nightlife. Coventry’s pubs and bars are just a short drive away, and the serene bar at the hotel is great for winding down with a glass of wine or local ale.
The check-out time of 10:30 AM might feel a bit early after a late-night gig, so plan to snooze that alarm or ask for a late check-out if available. Also, parking comes at a small extra charge, so factor that into your budget.
If you're looking to pair your concert with a memorable, storybook stay, Coombe Abbey Hotel offers historic charm and modern comfort just minutes from Coventry’s music scene.

What an economical gem of...
Liked: What a surprise! We booked to attend an event in the park so I was really pleased that the acconodation ended up being so luxurious and contributed as much to my weekend as the event we had booked for.We enjoyed drinks in the bar and garden and breakfast in the conservatory. It was far more historic and glamorous than I expected and we will absolutely book again. I'd also stay with my Mum, she would love the history and architecture.
Disliked: The room we booked was quite small but not an issue when booking for one night and the bathroom was lovely and spacious. Plus for the price I feel we got far more than anticipated. It was like staying in a National Trust property!

I used to love Coombe...
Liked: I have been going to Coombe Abbey for over 20 years. the venue is very tastefully decorated and has a really unique atmosphere - going back in time whist maintaining a look and feel of luxury. The room was amazing with a four poster bed and the staff were very helpful and professional. Although the menu look unexciting, the food was excellent.
Disliked: I found the placement of marketing material on every flat surface too much. We are in July and already you are pushing Xmas! Then the menu, printed on a single large card (that I would expect in a motorway cafe) with a fold out card on the table with cocktails! It cheapens the whole experience.Add to this the phone didn't work in our room, nor did the aircon. And finally, when you are spending sever hundreds of pounds for a one night stay, to find you have one bar of soap and only body/shampoo from a wall pump in the shower is rather disappointing.Coombe Abbey used to be amazing and very atmospheric place - a real treat. I feel that now it is too commercial and making silly little cuts that take away from the whole experience of luxurious history.

Good
Liked: Lovely location. Had a lovely walk around the park and we had afternoon tea at the hotelThe room was nice comfortable and had everything you needed
Disliked: I thought it was a bit bad that they make you pay £10 for the car parking when you've paid £195 for the hotel stay and then we spent £87 on afternoon tea. As they put a service charge on topPlus we spent more on evening dinner & drinks on the Saturday evening Plus breakfast wasn't particularly great. They stuck it in a tiny corner luckily we did go for breakfast at 7:30, but I can imagine how busy it would be and the sausages were not locally sourced they didn't taste. Very nice
