Liked: There is a shortage of good hotels on the Isle of Man, but this is the best we've found. The setting is lovely, and our meal in the restaurant was good and the maitre d' made a point of remembering our names which is a nice touch. Parking is plentiful and the rooms and bathrooms were large and well appointed. The windows open which is rare these days, but there is no air conditioning if you happen to be there on a rare hot day! Unlike a lot of hotels they do still offer a daily housekeeping service.
Disliked: We had booked two twin rooms but on arrival were told they only had one twin. They did then give us a third room free of charge which was perfect for us but might not have suited others. However the biggest issue was that despite being a fairly new build and new extension they have a number of rooms (starting 7) that do not have step free access. I only choose hotels with a lift so I feel they should at least notify guests if this is going to happen. After some waiting around while the manager was consulted they offered for us to use a staff passage way which cut out some of the stairs (still leaving six though). It's not like it's a historic building, how is this still happening in this day and age?

Liked: The size of the room was great. Bathroom is a perfect size and the shower is superb.Breakfast had a good selection, Sunday roast is very tasty.Staff friendly both at breakfast and when using the bar facilities in the evening.
Disliked: Could have done with more low seating in the Brulot restaurant near the bar for those not eating a meal.Could have had better signage for guests wanting to play golf as the actual place to book a tee time was outside of the hotel perimeter and a 100m up the road plus the receptionist who checked us in didn't give clear enough information when we asked.

We really enjoyed our stay...

Liked: The room was large and light, with a nice view from the window. There was ample storage which included wardrobe and drawer spaces, with a safe, and tea/coffee and biscuits. Power points with a large mirror nearby are an essential for hair drying, perfect here! There were two comfy chairs and a nice, firm bed. The whole hotel looked clean and fresh, breakfast was excellent, and staff were helpful and courteous.
Disliked: The only thing lacking in the room was air conditioning. Temperatures were around 22c during the days of our stay and the room was too warm.
