Lovely stay with family and...

Liked: Rooms were spotless and large, with a mini fridge and microwave. The staff was super friendly and helpful. There were free cookies and popcorn at the front desk, and coffee and iced lemon water available all day/night. The pool was a hit with the kiddos. It's easy to get to, close to the highway, but the area itself is quiet. The property is located next to a lake encircled with a jogging path, which was super lovely to stroll around. There's a nice patio with chairs and tables where we set up to watch the total eclipse. Within walking distance is a grocery store (right next to the hotel, super helpful!) and several restaurants, so it was easy to grab anything we needed. Breakfast was solid and had lots of options: muffins and baked goods; eggs and sausage; biscuits and gravy; yogurt; cereal; breakfast sandwiches to microwave; waffle station; hard-boiled eggs; fruit. Highly recommend for families.
Disliked: The pool door was always locked (even during hours when the pool was open) and you had to ask the front desk to let you in every time, which got old. The bathroom in the pool area was out of order, though there were bathrooms right outside by the elevators (but I felt bad dripping all over the floors there!). There's also no hot tub, which would have been nice, but overall not an issue.
