Comfort Suites Near Casinos

Dirty and dusty. Very worn. Both TV's did not work. Repair man was very helpful. Changed batteries in the remote and the TV worked fine. Second TV in sitting area as well as light fixtures (lamp, etc.) had no power. For the money I expected better.

Disliked: I had a very unpleasant experience at this hotel. The room had a strong, bad smell that made it very uncomfortable to stay in. The bed was not clean, and even the blanket had stains on it. It felt dirty and poorly maintained. On top of that, at around 3 AM, someone knocked on our door, and there were women laughing loudly in the hallway—they had mixed up the rooms. It was very disturbing and unprofessional. Overall, I did not enjoy my stay at all and would not recommend this place.

Nightmare on Otrobando Avenue.

Liked: This hotel had multiple opportunities to “do the right thing” to maintain customer satisfaction; however at every turn, they did the opposite. I would strongly suggest choosing a different hotel if you are staying in the Norwich CT area; there is a Courtyard Marriott just down the road. The experience was so negative that there is just nothing positive to say.
Disliked: The first evening, we discovered stains on the curtains, couch and the walls, even the carpet was filthy, tattered and worn. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and smaller than we expected; we thought the room had two queen beds but they were doubles. When my wife took a shower she discovered that the shower/tub would not drain and we were left with a tub filled with water. The room door fit the frame so poorly that you could see out into the hallway through the large cracks around the door and it was so crooked that to lock the door, I had to lift up on one side of the door while turning the lock-knob. The next day, we explained the above to the woman at the front desk who agreed to switch our accommodations to a suite room. No word was mentioned of additional room charges; it was not until checkout that we learned that we had actually been charged double our first night’s rate ($100 to $200) for the second night. When we got home, we discovered that we left our laptop in the hotel room. I called the hotel and was told: “Oh yes, we have your laptop at the front desk.” They had my name and my cell phone number; had they just called me when they found it, I could have easily have picked it up before driving home. I was told my only recourse was to drive 3 hours back or purchase a FedEx shipping tag ($50), email it to the hotel, then they would box it and ship it to me. I made FedEx arrangements and when I called the hotel to check the status, I was told that the laptop was still there. When I said that I was told the hotel would be dropping it off at FedEx on Monday morning, she said: “We don’t do that.” When I asked for the manager's name, she hung up on me. Later, I received notification from FedEx that the package was in transit. When the laptop arrived, I saw that the hotel never put the laptop into a box, they simply wrapped two strips of packing tape around the label and the case and sent it.

Liked: Breakfast served too early 6-9. On vacation don’t like to rush getting up and dressed and like to sleep a little later. Bed was comfy. Room decent except for rust stains in tub. Location was not the best, no where you can walk to. No stores or restaurants right there.
