Comfort Suites Clearwater - Dunedin

Location for the venue we were attending is why I choose this Comfort Inn and that was a plus. The first person we felt with was very friendly and nice. But after that it went down hill. Hot showers are a must and shouldn’t be an issue because someone installed it backwards and apparently she knew this information and the room shouldn’t be booked with electrical and hot water issues to anyone no matter the price .. and for 169.00 a night I expect a fully functioning room, and not be treated as if I am an inconvenience to her.

Liked: The Front desk .. He was so kind and made us feel welcome.
Disliked: The shower didn’t have hot water and over half the lights didn’t work, and outlets were rerouted through extension cords. We asked for a room transfer and the male that greeted us had left and the female that came made us feel that we were ignorant for not knowing that the cold and hot were backwards on the shower and for not knowing that the coffee maker had to be plugged into the extension cords and not the wall receptacle that didn’t work and why was it a problem because half the room didn’t have lights that were in working order.. This is why.. I paid 165.00 a night and I shouldn’t have to guess that half the room didn’t have lights and the extension cords that was hidden was the plug to make coffee.. I expect at least hot water and I am on a trip and don’t need to figure out why..

Hotel was clean and very clean. Right across the street from the water; lovely view.

Liked: Good location. Close to the TD Ball Park.
Disliked: Nothing.

The staff was very nice. The hotel was a perfect spot to get to downtown and to get to the pier and beach. I would stay again and recommend as a good hotel to stay at if I was asked. For the price it was OK for two queens. The beds were comfortable and it was a clean hotel overall. The gulf was across the street so we had a nice view of the water. Overall good hotel.

Disliked: I expected more from a Comfort Suites. It was outdated and the foyer was very odd with liquor and drinks being sold from a small refrigerator in the “lobby.

Liked: For the most part, hotel was clean. Bed was uncomfortable and moved. You could feel the linoleum under your feet buckling. It was very hot during our stay and the pool was very dirty with a lot of debris. All in all though for the price, the staff during mid shift (3-11) was SUPER nice and attentive, breakfast was decent, and cleanliness as a whole was not bad. I would stay here again.
Disliked: The pool had a lot of debris. The bed was uncomfortable and moved.

Disliked: The sofa was so dirty! Looked to have clumps of hairs on it, from what seemed to be a pet? I didn’t even get to open the sofa bed completely because I saw how dirty it was, when I went to lift the cushions to see if maybe it was clean under, I saw blankets folded up in there from the previous people that stayed. I never write negative reviews, but just want to make people aware.
