Room for Improvement

Liked: Overall, I'd rate my stay a 5 out of 10. The staff was polite and friendly and I can see this hotel being better once improvements are mad, but right now it's not somewhere I'll stay again with some major fixes.
Disliked: I didn't like how it wasn't mentioned at booking that the property is being renovated so once we got off the elevator, there were a lot of boxes in the hall on all the floors. The jacuzzi did not properly function, which was disappointing since it along with the indoor pool was the main reason why I chose this hotel. On Saturday morning, the complimentary breakfast had gnats flying around and, on the food and juice dispensary, which made it hard to enjoy. Sunday morning, we didn't eat the breakfast, but we walked around and noticed the gnats was gone... my guess was that the juice dispensary tray wasn't clean but I'm glad they fixed that problem. In the room, there were holes in the fitted sheet like a rat bitten hole in it. Being that the place is currently renovating the rooms, please change out the mattresses, the TV in our room was really small for the space, and on top of that, I saw a large roach which was definitely unsettling which made relaxing in the room a little less enjoyable.
