Joye N, North Myrtle Beach, visiting Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum
I asked for a room away from the main street and I was given the best one possible! Good cable with lots of channels? YES. Good shower with hot water? YES. Fridge and Micro? YES. Free WiFi? YES. I could be super picky and fuss about the fitted sheet that didn't, but in the scheme of things, no big deal. The location was handy since I was attending a graduation at Williams Auditorium. Breakfast was adequate. The rate was reasonable. I would stay at this Wingate again!
Liked: Met all my requirements and then some.

Disliked: When we got there to check in, we were a little early (about 1:30) and just wanted to put our bags in the room and go back out. It was not crowded at the hotel, and we didn't notice anyone cleaning, etc. However, the man at the check-in said in a very unfriendly manner "No"which was ok because we were early. We were just a little surprised as we usually can check in early if the room is cleaned. He didn't check anything -- just said "no." So when we did check in at around 6:30, another man was there who was not friendly at all. I walked up to the desk with our special needs son. My son said "hi" -- not acknowledged. He just kept messing about with the computer he was on. Then I started talking to him -- totally ignored. Finally he said he needed my cards which I gave him. He messed about with them and said to check the charge machine. The amount was more than I expected and he nastily said that there was a security charge which would be refunded. which I will have to check. He then shoved the cards back to me. He never even looked at me and when my son said something else to him, he ignored him again. Bad manners, bad salesmanship, bad welcome. It put a whole bad taste in my mouth, and it wasn't appreciated. When we checked out the next day, there were two ladies there, and they were very nice.
