Central Inn

I had an overall good stay here at Comfort Inn at Denver. It was also very close to the event I came to attend. The breakfast in the morning was also very good.

Liked: The cleanliness.
Disliked: The balcony is not what I expected. And the pools are never open.

Liked: We were not told they were under construction. Every thing was a mess. First room given was torn apart. Had to navigate thru remodel piles with my kids, the elevators were always busy because of the workers, and we ended up on the 5th floor so elevators were needed and not well placed having to walk so far from the entry to the elevator. We only stayed because I had no time to look and the room we ended up in wasn't bad. Thankful it was quiet despite the workers, but not happy it didn't have black out curtains and sleep was hard to come by with lights coming in the window.
Disliked: Room was pretty comfortable.

Place was absolutely destroyed

Liked: Walked in and the place was tore up like a war zone. The pool was nothing but gravel. I walked in almost made it to the counter before I just turned around and just walked out. The place was destroyed.

Don't do it!

Liked: Worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Nothing like the pictures. Looks like they're remodeling (which I completely understand), but the place should still be clean! The room we were given had no baseboards, room number was taped to the door, holes in the wall, blood(?) on the curtains and window. No clock, microwave, and mini fridge were stacked in the corner of the room like a college dorm. We had no warning of this when booking and for the inconvenience you would think they would offer a discounted rate.

Liked: Nothing there was a construction site inside the hotel
Disliked: Everything other the construction my room had a powerful paint smell

Liked: Staff was friendly. Breakfast was a nice plus
Disliked: Hotel was really dirty. It was all under construction. I understand places have to get remodeled and it can't be the cleanest when doing a remodel but they could at least sweep the floors. Heard banging and drilling until 10pm above me. As a solo female traveler I felt unsafe leaving my room, the area was kind of sketchy. The hotel room itself was more decent then the rest of the hotel. It's fine if you're going to be gone a lot and just need a place to sleep.

Well...we have stayed at worse

Liked: Well the entire place is definitely under a remodel, there's no base trim in the hallways, the bathroom had broken tiles in the shower, drywall patches that needed patching and painting, exposed wiring where sconces used to be. The outlets in the hallway had no trim plates and were exposed. The entry hallway was very dirty due to construction constantly. Work on the pool which included drilling began around 8am on a Sunday. The elovaters looked like it was from the slums, scratched to hell, drawings from a knive in it like graffiti. The bathroom exhaust fan didn't work. There wasn't weatherstripping on the bottom of the room door so anything happening in the hallway could be heard. The road noise was awful all night. The only plus side was the bed was ok, and the double shower head was nice. Honestly wouldn't have paid more that $80 for this hotel eventhough I paid $130 especially due to remodeling and not letting guests know. I don't believe the remodeling was happening on the upper floors despite exposed outlets, not finished paint jobs and exposed wiring.
