The Spotlight on Colwick Hall Hotel

Stylish Boutique Retreat Minutes from Nottingham City Centre

Modern elegance meets historic charm at Colwick Hall Hotel, a beautifully restored Grade II-listed mansion just five minutes from Nottingham city centre and the train station. Nestled within Colwick Park, this 4-star boutique hotel offers a tranquil setting with stunning views, free parking, and thoughtfully designed rooms, each with unique décor, a flat-screen TV, tea/coffee facilities, WiFi, and luxurious bathrooms.

Why Concert-goers love it

Colwick Hall is a smart pick for music lovers thanks to its close proximity to major Nottingham venues like Motorpoint Arena and Rock City. It's tucked away enough for a peaceful night's sleep after a loud gig, but close enough to make getting to and from your show a breeze. With ample free parking and only a 5-minute ride from the station, it's ideal whether you're driving or training it in. The flexible 2:00 PM check-in time means you can arrive, relax, and get ready without rushing.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a stylish and spacious base
  • Solo travelers seeing a bucket-list artist
  • Couples making a weekend of it
  • Fans wanting a quieter post-concert recovery space
  • Budget-conscious music fans who want luxury without the downtown price tag

Food and Drink Options

The hotel’s award-winning Byron’s Brasserie is a real highlight. Set in a grand dining room with an ornate ceiling, it serves refined dishes with a local twist. While there's no 24/7 room service, evening dining is available and breakfast is served late enough for post-concert lie-ins. For late-night cravings, Nottingham city centre is just a quick cab ride away with plenty of eateries.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself offers a peaceful retreat, you're just minutes from the buzzing Nottingham nightlife. From live music bars to cozy pubs and craft cocktail lounges, there's something for every vibe. Head back to your boutique room when you're ready to wind down in quiet comfort.

What People Say

Guests rave about the gorgeous setting, spacious rooms, and friendly staff. Many reviews highlight the unique decor and peaceful atmosphere, calling it a “hidden gem” right outside the city. The on-site restaurant also earns high marks for both its ambiance and food quality.

Areas for Improvement

Some visitors mention that, being a historic building, the hotel doesn't have air conditioning – although fans are provided in all rooms. A few guests noted that transport options can be limited late at night, so booking a cab in advance is a smart move.

The Bottom Line

For concert-goers looking for boutique charm, peaceful surroundings, and easy access to Nottingham’s music scene, Colwick Hall Hotel strikes the perfect chord.

The main focus of this...

Liked: It’s an historic building set in parkland which is close to Nottingham city centre.
Disliked: The noise from the functions taking place on two of the three nights we stayed was excessive and blighted our stay. The functions had the use of the garden at the back of the property meaning that other residents couldn’t use it . The Brasserie lacked atmosphere and is not in keeping with the character of the outside of the building.

Bad

Liked: Nothing
Disliked: This is not a 4* hotel. Stayed in luxury suite. Nothing was luxury. Windows didnt open, fan was very noise to have it on, carpets dirty and discolourated, bathroom dirty and not even a toilet brush. Water was in a glass bottle from the tap, dust everywhere, windows very dirty. Breakfast was a joke, £16 for 1 sausage 1 bacon and 1 tomatoes! Bar and kitchen closed at 20:30 pm so cant even have a drink or a sandwich, basics in a 4* hotel. Very dissapointed. Wedding party took over the hotel, 7 am they were getting ready with all the bedrooms doors open, having music and shouting, no consideration for guests ( they were just getting ready, not actually in a party), manager never asked them to close their bedrooms door. Everything looks like they cant be bother. We payed £160 plus £31 for breakfast, not worth the money at all!!!!!! Avoid it
