Liked: Beautiful rooms & grounds
Disliked: The comfort and cleanliness was just not up to standardAs you can see the rooms are beautiful but I was so unimpressed to enter my rooms (I had 2 as they moved me due to one not being serviced properly on arrival) to see so many cobwebs, spillage on the floor, dead spiders, someone’s dirty old false eyelash, biscuit crumbs, blood or make-up? Dirt on the coasters, marks on the towels, sticky & dusty surfaces, clean towels stained with brown marks (unsightly) kettle full of limescale, this made the stay really uncomfortable for what was supposed to be a luxury break. The staff were friendly but overall I felt the stay was a let down due to the lack of attention to detail on cleanliness and comfort, I’ve stayed in 2* hotels that are much cleaner. In fact this is likely one of the dirtiest hotels I’ve stayed in which is a shame as otherwise I would have enjoyed it. Someone isn’t doing their job properly here, it was tidy but not clean - perhaps the general manager?

Liked: Comfy bed and spacious room Hotel was attractive period country house Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Disliked: A lift needs to be installed, lots of stairs if you are in a room on the top floor. Tinned mushrooms and frozen hash browns were not reflected in the16£ for breakfast.
