Wonderful stay in Oban
Liked: We had a wonderful stay at the Columba! Our room was fantastic - vey roomy with everything that we needed, and also a great view from the 3rd floor. The staff was so great! We really enjoyed getting to know the lovely woman from Lithuania who worked at the front desk during the evening shift! Thank you for everything!

Liked: Sea View, large bedroom, Bed large , location in town close to shops .
Disliked: Lift is usually but it did the job didn't break down .

Birthday treat.
Liked: Beautiful view from window. Very friendly staff,ready to help at any time.
Disliked: Perhaps the lift could be updated,as it's quite a struggle to open and close the old fashioned door! It has character,but it is very small.This may be an issue for people who are not so mobile.

Amazing staff who go above...
Liked: We have stayed at The Columba before. The staff are absolutely amazing, nothing is too much bother and the location is fantastic.
Disliked: Nothing, it is an older style hotel with an "interesting " lift but it is clean and has character.

Not recommended unless you are...
Liked: Not much to like about this place.Only that it was right at the harbour. Room size was ok.
Disliked: Took 10 min to find someone to check me in. No help to find the room. Reserved a room for a couple, got 3 single beds, yes can push 2 beds together but of course the just roll apart again. Room was dirty and dusty, decor dated and damaged. Hot in the room so opened the dirty window to a cloud of dust.Mattress was down to bare springs and sagging on all beds.Needed window open at night but it looked over the busy road and restaurants, loud music and drunk laughing until 2 am. Modern bathroom but the shower is over the slippery bath and would not be suitable for older people.
