Colonial Motel

Superb

Liked: Spacious room with very comfortable beds. Fridge, microwave, little table and two chairs were convenient to have. Very clean room and bathroom. Vinyl flooring so no smelly carpet. For fresh air you can open the window backing up to the farm fields. You can drive 25 min to Rondeau Provincial Park and Greenview Zoo in Morpeth. Greenview Zoo in Morpeth is unique as you can feed animals from hand. You can buy small bag of food for the animals for $4. My favourite thing to do at the Zoo is feeding little sweet Lemurs by hand. You can feed from hand Alpacas, Deer, Capybara, Goats, Cows, Pigs, Donkeys and little horses. Only Tigers, Lions, Caiman and some Monkeys are not allowed to be fed. Paradise to get to wildlife so close. Colonial Motel is perfect location to get there. Also it is 1h drive to Point Pelee National Park.
Disliked: I know it is standard to have one luggage rack but I wish there two racks provided so one of us wouldn't have to keep our bags on the floor. Or perhaps little Ikea side table ($15 only) to keep bag off the floor would greatly help.

Disliked: Permanent residents? sitting around... Used? mattresses leaning against oudoors of motel, makes it look rundown. No ice available, mgr had to provide personal ice

Liked: Adequate facilities, one of the towels was not well cleaned, the water got stuck in the bathtub, one of the bed linen was stained. A/C was too small for a two queen bed room, room didn't get cool. Other than that, there was a fridge, a microwave, a tv, coffee maker. Hot water, clean room and toilets.

Liked: Great location on the edge of town and friendly staff/owners. Quiet place to relax after a day of travelling and visiting.
