Liked: Good patio, good breakfast food though paper plates and plastic cutlery was a bit basic. Easy parking , comfortable nights sleep

Disliked: A Disappointing Stay Marred by Poor ServiceOur recent stay at the Cod Cove Inn left much to be desired, primarily due to an incredibly frustrating check-in experience.Prior to our arrival, I called the hotel to arrange early access for my son, informing them I would arrive shortly after to provide payment details and a credit card for incidentals. The helpful young lady I spoke with assured me this was noted on our account and that my son would be granted access to the room.However, upon my son's early arrival, he was met by a staff member named Nick, who, despite the prior arrangements, refused him entry to the room. This was an incredibly rude and unwelcoming start to our stay. To make matters worse, Nick also charged an additional and, in my opinion, ridiculous $30 per night for my son, a fee that was never mentioned during my initial reservation. This interaction significantly soured the beginning of our trip.Regarding the room itself, it was just "okay" – nothing special to note. The bathroom, unfortunately, was not clean and appears to be in dire need of an update.On a brighter note, the young man working at breakfast was very nice and provided good service, which was a welcome contrast to our check-in.Regrettably, due to the negative experience with Nick, we will not be returning to this hotel and will be sure to share our experience with friends and family. A pleasant and accommodating staff can make all the difference, and in this instance, it was severely lacking.

Beautifully clean, convenient location!

Liked: I was a little disappointed in the breakfast. There were no eggs, sausage, potatoes, bacon, and the normal things you would expect when paying that amount of money. However, there were waffles, muffins, bagels, yogurt, but the other items would have been nice as additional choices.
Disliked: My wife and I were please with the property, the staff, and although the room was a little dated, it was very clean. It was a convenient, quiet location with beautiful grounds! We would definitely stay here again next year, as we travel throughout Maine

Okay Stay

Liked: This is an older property with some updates. I appreciated that our room had no carpet, a good size refrigerator/freezer, microwave and Kuerig that fit several cups of coffee. It also had a good location. It was close to attractions and the highway. The bed was comfortable.
Disliked: The sofa was very uncomfortable and the bathroom door was hard to close. No food is allowed to be taken out of the dining area. The bathtub needs to be replaced.

The Cod Cove Inn is...

Liked: Clean spacious room with comfortable beds, a lovely balcony , and a pool and gardens out back.
Disliked: Breakfast. It was the same low quality fare provided at most moderate hotel/motels. I'm happy that food is available as most everyone was eating it, but my son and I wanted something a bit more nutritious, so we went to a local breakfast place for a healthier meal. The coffee and tea were great.
