While searching for wheelchair accessible hotels in Edmonton, we came across this hotel. The price was around the same as anywhere else, but since we have stayed at other Best Western Plus hotels and had a great experience, we thought this would be the same. Right after booking the hotel on this website we phoned the hotel directly to ensure we reserved a wheelchair accessible room. The staff assured us we had. The night before our arrival I called to confirm again, and was told the only wheelchair accessible room was no longer available as it required some repairs. They would cancel our reservation with no charge. This was unacceptable as the Garth Brook concerts were this weekend and hotel rooms were at a premium if you could find one. We ended up settling for a room in which we could not get a wheelchair into the bathroom. Added to that, the hotel is under renovations, the elevator is old, and to top it off, this Plus hotel no longer offers the free buffet breakfast to it's guests. Needless to say we will never stay at this hotel again, nor would we recommend it to anyone, but especially to anyone in a wheelchair.
Liked: The staff were helpful.
Disliked: The room; the hotel itself; the fact they lied about it being accessible.

This was our favourite stay...
Liked: We especially appreciated the couch pull out bed. We were traveling with our adult son and teen grandson.
Having the extra sleeper made a huge difference to our comfort and overall stay.
Disliked: The T.v was set up in away that made viewing difficult for most of the room.

Big rooms, decent hotel, but...
Liked: Price was right. Having a restaurant in the hotel was convenient. Location was good, we walked to shops and it?s just a 5 minute drive to West Ed. Hotel renovations look nice.
Disliked: When we arrived they put us on a different floor than my parents when we?d requested to be together. Then we were assigned 228, my parents were in 229 but they are quite far apart. We got into 228 and the baseboards were falling off, there was a used bandaid on the bedside table and I made the mistake of lifting up the phone only to have my hand covered in something sticky. We moved across the hall to 235 and the nightmare continued. Blood on the sheets (which would e been impossible for housecleaning to miss, they purposely tucked the sheet back in.) Then the front desk girl came to fix it but had no idea what she was doing and only stripped the top layers and left me sheets to make the bed. Then someone else came, by this time it?s 11:00, and he obviously didn?t know anything about making beds either. He brought me king sized sheets for the queen bed and I ended up making the bed just so I could go to sleep. Thank goodness we?d brought some of our own blankets as we only had two sheets to sleep with. We all found a chicken bone under the chair. Obviously housekeeping just cleans around everything. The lotion bottle pump was broken and we could not set the A/C to auto so it was either off or full blast. Every time we went to the pool they were out of towels and they?d bring 6-10 towels at a time. I thought maybe I?d hear from a manger Saturday morning, but nothing yet. We?ll see how check out goes.
