Average hotel charging premium prices.
Liked: The hotel has a lovely restaurant and bar with an outdoor terrace with sea views. Extensive food and drinks menu.Staff were friendly.
Disliked: The communal areas and bedrooms are tired and need some refurbishment although the bathroom was updated with a nice shower. I had no privacy in my room with no net curtain despite the window being directly in line with residents first floor windows. For the price of £150 per night I would have expected some toiletries in the bathroom other than just soap and shower gel.

Good
Liked: Clean, good sized rooms, comfortable beds
Disliked: No blackout blinds/curtains so light came in very early but wasn’t a major issue

Overall an enjoyable stay this...
Liked: Breakfast was good.Room was comfortable but if it had been very warm weather even with a fan it would have been too hot in the room as we could not open the window.Staff we met were all very helpful.
Disliked: As stated above it would be helpful if the window could be opened easier.

Could have been a ten...
Liked: Location of the hotel was excellent for Gorleston. Staff are friendly, approachable and efficient. Hotel was clean and tidy. Rooms were clean and tidy. 2 for 1 cocktails between 4pm and 7pm (I think...from what I remember). A good selection of food on menu and good portion sizes. We stayed in a room with sea view and balcony and the view is quite good. A Banksy artwork was located a few minutes from the hotel, along with seafront. Seafront is clean with no dog mess.
Disliked: There is an issue with overnight staying residents sharing a carpark with the public who have just arrived for a meal. Non residents have up to three hours of free car parking which they take advantage of. They even go off premises to explore and leave their vehicles in the hotel carpark. Leaving less spaces for over night guests who are staying and paying for a room. When we arrived for 3pm check in, there were no vacant spaces. We had a choice. Either wait and hope someone would vacate leaving a vacant space, or drive to the sea front and drag our luggage up the steps leading to the front of the hotel. And there are many steps. The only thing safe-guarding any parking spaces is the policy of leaving your vehicle registration details at reception to avoid a nasty fine. But this doesn't stop anyone from leaving their vehicle details and then one person from a group eating a snack while the others just have a drink. I did notice this happening. Hence 8 out of 10 rating. If it wasn't for this issue there would be a ten rating.

Overall a pleasant stay. But...
Liked: Comfortable beds and very clean rooms. Excellent breakfast.
Disliked: Sadly one or two members of staff seemed disinterested with our arrival. Communication was lacking the personal touch.

PERFECT STAY FROM BOOKING TO...
Liked: Friendly welcome, lovely building, great views of the sea from the terrace. Great service from all staff. Sunday lunch fantastic. Easy parking.Room was very clean and comfortable with a sea view. Bar and dining areas very clean and welcoming with character features. The chef deserves a mention as all food was first class and thoroughly enjoyed. Great breakfasts too.The food was excellent and all the staff so friendly, efficient and attentive. Two members of staff deserve a big thankyou as they made our stay special. Molly on reception helped make our booking requests perfect and Maggie brightened our breakfasts with a great sense of humour. Both deserve a big thankyou and should be recognised by the management as outstanding in their customer service. THANKYOU MOLLY & MAGGIE.
Disliked: Nothing to dislike.
