Faulty air con in room...

Liked: It was conveniently located near BullRing Shopping Centre (5 mins walk) and just a 10 min walk from New Street train station. It was also just an at most 20 mins walk to major attractions like the cathedral and museum and art gallery. I also liked that there was a room option which had a double bed and a single bed. This made it really convenient for our family of 3.
Disliked: We stayed 2 nights (24 and 25 June)and on the day of check in (24 June), we realised it was really hot and stuffy in the room and raised the air con problem to the front desk. They said they would check and reset their Aircon system. However, no one came up to check our air conditioning and instead a fan tower was sent up(they called it an air con tower). This sat on our table. When we called them once again, the staff on the phone told us it has only been 15 mins and that was not enough time for things to be done. We asked if a room change was possible and they told us the air-conditioning was centrally controlled and a room change wasn't possible and there was nothing they could do. He then told us to use the air con tower while he monitors the situation. We then had to sleep a night in a room without air conditioning with a desk air-con tower and no updates were given to us.The next morning (25 June) around 930am, we politely asked the front desk if they managed to check our air conditioning and shockingly the morning staff seemed to have no idea of our situation. Why was this not handed over to the morning team? Were we expected to just accept the fact that our room had no air conditioning for another night? The morning staff then reassured us that there is a maintenance team coming in the day itself and our room will be checked. We returned to the hotel once again around 230pm that afternoon and checked with the front desk once again (another staff) regarding this check and once again, they seemed to not know of our situation. This male staff (I unfortunately did not manage to get his name) reassured us and actually came up to our room this time to check on the air con himself and told us that the air con was not working at all. He then offered us a room change. We were finally able to get a new room with air conditioning around 330pm that day. In other words, my family was only able to to stay in the room we paid for a night. No compensation was...

Customer service

Disliked: We got balloons and decorations dropped to the Hotel. When we got to the hotel at 5pm, they were not placed in the room on time so we had to wait. Moreover, the balloons were mixed up with a wedding, so I paid for helium balloon but I did not receive it. I didn’t receive anything but an explanation from the manager, but that’s not good enough. That’s my money I spent, where is the costs for replacing it? Moreover the AC was not working during the heatwave. The parking we valided, yet we had to pay the full price when we got to the car park. I’m disappointed as I’ve stayed here before.

Not great for the price.

Liked: Room cleanliness good.
Disliked: Room air con was not working, room was very hot and uncomfortable, reported to reception and no action taken. Room looked onto the new train line construction site, very noisy first thing in the morning. Went down for breakfast at 9:30 and no hot breakfast left, the chef said they would make extra bacon and it never arrived, literally had the last hash brown for breakfast. For a hotel that cost us £280 for bed and breakfast it was overpriced and poor, I have stayed in better premier inns.
