Great location, friendly staff. One...

Liked: Great location, good breakfast. Friendly staff.
Disliked: Booked as a family with 2 rooms. One for myself and my husband and one for the kids. Our room (608) had an unbearable smell. At first I thought the previous occupant had been smoking in it and someone had sprayed air freshener to mask the smell. After spending an hour in the room I realised it was actually the smell of damp/rotting carpet. There seemed to be a leak somewhere in the bathroom and the entire room smelled so bad.The kids room next door didn't have a smell but the window was broken and did not sit flush with the frame. You could almost stick your fingers outside the gap was so big. As a result the noise of traffic below was very loud and my normally comatose kids were awake half the night.Thought about going to reception to complain but as we needed to be adjacent to the kids I was afraid we wouldn't be moved to adjacent rooms and said we'd put up with both as only staying one night.I don't normally write reviews on hotels and ignore reviews when people say needs updating etc but in the instance I felt I needed to. Like I said we had 2 rooms and both had fairly serious issues.
