Wouldn’t hesitate to go again

Liked: Small, comfortable and very nicely furnished and decorated, set in spacious well kept grounds. Youthful staff were courteous, helpful and attentive.

Avoid Room 1! So noisy…..

Liked: Pretty grounds and the staff were professional, the best bit about the stay was the freshly baked mini pain au chocolats!
Disliked: It was so incredibly noisy, I slept badly. I specifically asked for a quiet room when I booked, but was allocated Room 1, which is basically a tiny extra room that can be added onto the suite next door- and lies right next to Reception and between the bar, the public toilet and the suite next door, as well as car parking right outside the window behind the bed head… you can imagine the footfall/ voice noise. On top of that, the plumbing pipes stream when someone uses their bathroom, so I was woken at 6am I suppose by someone above having a shower. Definitely not worth £120

Pure bliss!

Liked: The location is fantastic and just round the corner from several beauty spots! Peaceful is an understatement to say the least… so peaceful that the deer and rabbits joined us for breakfast outside the dining room! What an experience!
Disliked: Wouldn’t change a thing… Couldn’t fault it!

Exceptional

A nice hotel with no...

Liked: The hotel standard was very good and location worked for our business visit.
Disliked: Your site lists a restaurant. However, having driven in heavy traffic from St. Albans we arrived to be told the restaurant isn't open on a Sunday evening. We then had to drive another 15 miles or so to find somewhere decent to eat.

Liked: Lovely hotel in beautiful grounds.Instantly felt welcomed and safe.The garden room was great. It had 2 bedrooms and nice entrance room and lounge with doors out onto a little private garden The beds were lovely and clean and very comfortable
