Passable

Great Location, but uncomfortable to...

Liked: Great Location with a great view of the harbor and old city. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Disliked: AC didn't work in the room and it was unusually hot during our visit. My guess is they don't usually need the AC, but unfortunately they did during our visit. Also the bar in the hotel didn't open until 5PM. They had cans of beer in reception, but it wasn't as cold as having a nice cold draft when sitting on the deck outside the hotel.

Perfect hotel for a relaxing...

Liked: I was so glad I chose this property. I love the location across from the beautiful Bergen buildings and a short walk to all the places of interest in the town. Breakfast was fabulous with a beautiful view over the water and the rooms were nicely decorated. The bar was a great place for a drink at the end of the day.
Disliked: Nothing

Liked: Fantastic breakfast spread! We also loved the location.
Disliked: It’s an older building without air conditioning. Bergen was having a warm, humid summer!

Disliked: no air conditioning. a couple of steps in corridor

Liked: Breakfast excellent, location is across quay from UNESCO listed Bryggen.
Disliked: Consistently 28 deg C during stay (July 2025) rooms at hotel stifling with NO airconditioning or even fans. All guests takking about this. Hotels here will need to address results of climate change such as this - galling to pay that much $$$$ for disturbed sleep in stifling room. Some attitude from younger Reception staff when it was pointed out the water cooler in foyer had run out.

DO NOT stay at this...

Liked: Breakfast room was nicely situated right on the harbour side.
Disliked: No air conditioning! No other alternative method of cooling the extremely hot room was provided. This is unacceptable for an expensive hotel, especially as the hotel was aware of the temperatures that Bergen was experiencing. Even with all the windows open the room was like a sauna all night. Also the position of the room was very noisy. Do not stay in room 404. Would never stay here again.

Great location, great breakfast, not...

Liked: The breakfast was extensive and very good quality food
Disliked: I made a point of booking a family room with two extra beds for my sons. Additionally, 6 months before arrival I sent a message to confirm there would be two extra beds in the room- I received no response until I chased and then received confirmation. Upon arrival I found one additional bed- a sofa bed- exactly the configuration I went to great length to avoid. In a 4* hotel I would expect similar issues to be sorted out, not justified and shrugged off. Not the level of customer service I would expect.
