We loved our stay at...

Liked: One of the best hotel experiences of my life. The buffet breakfast and dinner were superb! Wonderful hospitality!
Disliked: No problems at all.

Disliked: Rooms: stuffy & noisy ( no ac so you had to open the windows which are above the main road : cars , motorbikes and revellers.Very dark, no storage space at all and only serviced if you ask for it.

Great location and great breakfast...

Liked: Lovely hotel with an outstanding breakfast, and even have light dinner every evening for their guests. Great location. Walking distance to everything.
Disliked: Overpriced for what I'm used to paying in the States.

Great location and lovely communal...

Liked: Location to Bryggen and inclusion of meals.
Disliked: Too noisy! Motorcycles racing by all night long. Room was directly above entrance and it was very annoying to hear guests arrive/depart and congregate below all through the night.

Liked: The breakfast was very good!The staff were friendly and kind.The location is excellent.
Disliked: I do not like to leave a negative review, but I must be honest. The beds were terrible. Pillows awful. The comforters were made of foam instead of a typical goose down, which you would expect from a high priced Scandinavian hotel. There was no air conditioning or fans available for our 5 rooms. There was a heat wave in Norway, which, of course, they cannot control, but for this expensive of a hotel they should be prepared with fans in every room if there is hot weather. You had to open your windows and there was loud noise outside until 4am. We LOVE the midnight sun, but because we had to keep our windows open with the intense heat, and the raucous noise outside, it was impossible to sleep. We had a miserable stay.

Very good

Liked: The hotel staff and facilities were wonderful. The breakfast and dinner were a lovely touch.
Disliked: It would have helped to have air conditioning as it was quite warm when we were there and my husband had the French balcony door open all night and I wasn't comfortable with that!

Recommended for a short visit...

Liked: Perfect location - in the centre of Bryggen, right next to airport express bus stop, opposite one of the day cruise pick up/ drop-off points, about a 5 min walk to both the funicular station and the fish market. Breakfast spread is fantastic.
Disliked: The ‘gym’ is the most absurd set up I’ve ever seen in a hotel - there’s random equipment/weights in a ridiculously dark space (I had to use my phone’s flashlight to see the DB weights); DBs looked rusty and the weight selection was inadequate. No space in shower to place personal items (eg facial cleansers) and shower doors don’t fully seal so water goes everywhere.
