One of the worst hotel...

Disliked: I stayed here with my mother, hoping for a peaceful and relaxing holiday, but unfortunately, it turned into one of the most disappointing hotel stays we’ve ever had.The food was unacceptable.Dinner on April 20th was particularly awful – the chili con carne was not fresh, had a bad smell, and was overly spicy. I ended up with stomach pain, and my mother couldn’t even eat it. It was shocking that they didn’t consider guest dietary preferences. No apologies or responsibility were offered by the staff.On Easter Sunday, there was no festive meal or special touch of any kind. Meals throughout our stay were repetitive, lacked variety, and breakfast leftovers seemed to be reused. No mineral water was provided at the table – I had to go all the way to the sauna area to get one. That’s not 4-star service.False advertising and poor communication.Before booking, I called the hotel to confirm the SPA facilities. I was assured all were included, but when we arrived, I found out there was no jacuzzi – something the hotel later admitted they had “overlooked.”Booking.com was helpful and offered a full refund due to the misleading information, but the hotel itself only agreed to cover 20% of the cost. This lack of accountability was extremely frustrating.The room had serious issues.A terrible sewage smell began coming from the ventilation system during our stay (I have photos as evidence). The room was cold, and the thermostat allowed only a minimal adjustment range of -3 to +3°C, which was insufficient given that outdoor temperatures were around 9°C.Even more concerning: there was no in-room phone to contact the reception – a basic amenity that was simply missing.One of the lights in the bathroom didn’t work from day one and was never repaired.Housekeeping was careless.When I requested the room to be cleaned, the bed sheets were not replaced.On our final day (April 23rd), strawberries were finally offered at breakfast – but they were not fresh and had no flavor.

Liked: Best hotel I have stayed at! Cosy beds, quiet rooms, central, awesome breakfast and dinner. The staff were absolutely fantastic and really helpful. A must stay in Bergen - especially with kids!

A comfortable short stay in...

Liked: The location by the harbour and close to the UNESCO heritage houses; Breakfast and a simple evening meal included; comfortable residents’ lounge; the tower which afforded good views of the city.
Disliked: Included meals were a bit restr8cted.
