City Hotel

Certainly doesn’t live up to...

Liked: Location was good
Disliked: It’s a bit neglected, room decor in a poor state. Room facilities poor ie no shampoo or shower gel. Shower hot water takes a long time to come on in the morning.

Disliked: Breakfast was very poor. Weird coming through the carpark to the hotel.

Don't stay in The City...

Liked: Nothing. The room was outdated, the window did not close, the air conditioner did not work, the smell of the drains was present in the shower cubicle, the gluten free breakfast we were given was inedible, the remaining hot breakfast food wasn't far behind, and the wait to be served at the bar and in the breakfast area was incredible. The staff at reception were professional and helpful.Had I known what the experience would be like, I wouldn't have booked. I have been in many hotels which charge a lot less and provide much higher standards of accommodation, food and bar service. The ongoing renovations did not negatively contribute to the issues I experienced.. The City Hotel does not deserve the trade.

Liked: Definitely not worth the price

Very good

Liked: The location was brilliant, so easy to get anywhere.The view from our room over river Foyle.Staff were friendly and helpful.
Disliked: Understand the hotel is going through renovations but having to go in and out through underground car park not good, specially at night.Could do with tea/coffee machines in dining room, waited too long for staff to come round to refill (not their fault).
