Liked: walking distance to Bahnhof.passionate staff.
Disliked: no lift. impossible to get suitcase up without being helped.fake photos of the hotel make you think that it is located in some sort of a beatiful pedestrian zone. NO!! it is located between two busy streets, so noise noise noise!!!noise also comes from the corridor (bad room doors), you hear absolutely everything if anyone passes your door.room very poorly equipped: no electric kettle, etc.room rather small (I had a single room).beware that the location is in immigrant neighborhood. you will need to walk 30 mins or more to reach the wonderful old city of Wetzlar.big risk that someone will be taking for the whole night under your window (this was my case).hotel is located above a food market, which makes you think that it has never meant to be a hotel....

Liked: Staff were very friendly, nice breakfast buffet, bed was comfortable but not as firm as I prefer it which of course is just a personal preference
Disliked: As a German living in the US I would have liked a bigger choice of bread/rolls being back in the bread capital of the world. Still it was sufficient and great tasting If you can’t or don’t want to handle stairs then this hotel is not for you. It’s great exercise, but there is no elevator, should you require one

Excellent value for money --...

Liked: Almost Everything. I found the hotel to be just about excellent, from its proximity to both the city centre and the railway station, to the friendliness and co-operation of its staff. It was great value for money and the breakfast, at just 10 EURO PER MORNING, represented EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY. I went to Wetzlar to see the famous LEICA CAMERA FACILITIES, and the CITY HOTEL is near to the LEICA MICROSYSTEMS complex of buildings, which is just 15-20 minutes away on foot.
Disliked: I wish the hotel had an English-language station on its TV, but that's only because my rough German wasn't good enough to understand any of the (only) German language stations. I had thought that the bed had insufficiant blankets, but in fact the internal heating system in the hotel meant that I actually felt TOO WARM, rather than too cold.
