City Hotel Nattergalen, Odense

A warm and friendly family...

Liked: Of all the hotels I've stayed at during a two week trip in Europe, the friendly, helpful and warm staff here were remarkable, and really stood out. I'd thoroughly recommend staying staying at the Nattergalen. The staff member who checked me in was friendly, professional and knowledgeable about Odense and the local area. The next day, another staff member was extremely helpful in assisting me with hiring a bike from the hotel, and getting everything set up for a local trip of around 60km. The buffet breakfast was excellent. A wonderful range of good quality breads, scrambled eggs, cereals, fruit and tea and coffee. The hotel is an easy 6-8 min walk from the central train station, so very convenient in that regard, and also very convenient for walking into and around central Odense.
Disliked: There was some traffic noise from the street outside the hotel at night, but it settled down fairly quickly and I had a good night's sleep.

Liked: near the city center, breakfast buffet included, small room but perfect , enough blankets and pillows
Disliked: the parking has a limited car space , 10 vehicles, I guess, so when arriving late, it is full , you have to turn to park and check if you can park , my room was looking vintage like in the 50s, perhaps refresh the decoration .....

Just match my expectations

Liked: Great place, near the city centre and train station, super friendly staff and nice facilities. Breakfast with good products, and of course having coffee available 24h is always a nice perk for the guests :)
Disliked: The room could have more tv channels :D

My stay here was worth...

Liked: Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was modest but good. Room was spacious, clean, and nice and quiet. It was nice to have a coffee/tea/hot chocolate machine near the breakfast room, available 24/7.
Disliked: Two (minor) things were missing in my bedroom: a safe and a water boiler for tea making.

Great value in the heart...

Liked: I was in Odense for a conference. The hotel was in a great location, close to the train station, a short walk to restaurants and attractions, and bus to the Congress Centre. The hotel was quiet, even my room that was on ground floor close to reception. The breakfast was good, and you could make tea and coffee any time. There were spaces to to relax and do some work if required. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
Disliked: The bathroom facilities were a bit dated and unfortunately on my final night the pipes were blocked in my and the neighbouring room and they needed to call a plumber.
